Level Of Difficulty at Work: 6 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 40min

Woohoo! Life is grand.. and it costs that much too!
i've got 2 cool things and a tidbit to share..
1) It's here! The Dillon 550b! with all it's funness! I feel like a little boy again! hopefully it won't blow me up!

I'd say it's 70% setup (thanks to Mr. Seligers Video), all thats left is the settings for the individual dies! At first my brother and I had no clue on where to put it. But after mounting the Strong mount and pushing it around on the table i found a pretty sweet spot on the side of the table. It looks cramped but actually theres a shelf right next to it making it an armrest for me to put the bullets on the shells!
2)i've won my oh, probably 4th ebay (like i ebay much) thingie. I was looking for a softer seat for my moto. The current hard foam thing kills me after about 90miles of riding! it's too hard! So i looked around and one company sells a replacement seat for 200$ ack! i went on ebay and won it for 46! used but still looks fine!

So for the tidbit.. i'm guessing everybodys gonna like this one, Since i never really got my 'ToasTy Approved' Area (too much info, too scattered everywhere) i might put a little here n there on the blog.. So the 1st item that i'd like to share is Gordon Biersch Frozen Garlic Fries from Costco! The odd thing is i'm still trying to figure out if i'm gonna approve of it or not. The 9$ bag contains french fries in which you either fry (if you've got a fryer) or bake, and 4 '(yellow-green looking) garlic packs'. The instructions are simple, preheat the oven. If you put 1/4 bag in to cook, use 1 'garlic pack' if 1/2 bag use 2 packs.. etc.. Well i did 1/4 bag, and cooked it for the 12min or 'until golden brown' but for me it never turned golden brown. So i leave them there for a bit more and then they became dry n semi-hard (ick) and still not golden brown. Cooks Error? maybe, i dunno. So i break open the garlic pack, put the fries into a big pot, put 1/2 of the pack in and started to toss the fries. As i was tossing the bag this wierd scent was overwhelming me. It was semi-pesto sauce, semi-ultra garlic smelling, but slightly odd. Anyways even with only 1/2 of the garlic pack put in, the fries were plenty garlic-powered giving me that oh-so-seductive breath that all women fall for.
So as for the Gordon Biersch Frozen Garlic Fries, i'm rating it Uncertain for now.. i've got 3/4 of the bag left!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 9 out of 10 (I worked enough for 3 people, they shoulda gave me some sorta thanks!)
NapTime During Lunch: 15min

Work was so off the wall today that it was mad! I was everywhere, one coworker told me that i was working too hard.. isn't that the truth, i was multitasker of the day. i actually did real work though, as opposed to turning keys and feeding babies.

This kinda neato, riding my motorcycle to Roxannes and seeing the canadian geese at her apt. And being harassed by 3 squirrels.. Seriously when i wanted to zap them, they were never there. When i can't zap them, they are in my face, 15 yards away.. Ain't that something?? Anyways Roxanne finds it odd that it's a week to go to halloween and shes seeing a whole lot of christmas lights being strung up and turned on. it's xmas already? not if it's 92degrees in S.F. and 89 in San mateo.. thats another oddity for once, san francisco warmer than the penninsula..

As for reloading, i'm trying to figure out where the loader should be in this cramped space. also i'm trying to figure out where to put 16 pounds of gun powder: 8lbs of Varget for the .223 and 8lbs of Titegroup for the .40.. oi! Also i've been compiling recipies for all the various combos of ammo loads in an access database (meaning i had to install MSOffice(Ick!)). I wonder if i really do need an SQL for ammo loads.. heh

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 33min

ok.. it's done, i just did it.. screw it.. i bought the reloader. It came to about $440 shipped. The Dillon 550b for 270$, .40S&W and .223Rem Conversion Plates for 33$ each, and a whole lotta other bits n accessories. I've been floating all over the internet looking for recipies for both .223 and .40.. i'll start with that stuff, i've now started a database of recipies.. Let's see how mad this gets, oh.. 30 years down the line.. heh.. now i've gotta find a place to mount this puppy.

The swiss army seems alright, back to normal, epoxied. How long would this last?

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 6 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 31min

Goodness! (reminiscing involved!)

I ride my bike home from another day of work in paradise and i notice something poking me in my pocket! Lo and behold!

I couldn't believe it! For 15 years this swiss army knife was in my back pocket! It took me 7 weeks to save up at $5 a week of allowance. I remember it like it was yesterday, it was 1988 and i went to this hardware store on Mission street, near Ocean Ave. The stores gone now, turned into a kragen, but back then there was nothing wrong with a 12-year old busting 35$ for a knife. Nowadays who knows what i can buy at the age of 12. Anyways i've stuck some epoxy into the 3 holes and hopefully that'll stay put, theres nothing mechanically wrong with it, it's just the covers loosened off. My brother wanted me to return it for it has a lifetime guarentee, but then it wouldn't be the same old knife i've always had would it?

Finally! It's starting to come together..

I got Crushed Walnut and some dillon brass sauce and it now works! all my brass comes out shiny now! wee! i'm still hesitating on getting the reloader. At this one gun shop i visit, they sell Dillon's and i'm trying to figure out where to put this contraption. Theres totally no room! I've got the 100rounds of Black Hills 52gr Match Rounds from Roxannes parents. The match requires 58 Rounds, but i can survive it somehow for the next 2 months. Up to 2 Months till i get that reloader. hmmz..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 3.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 29min

Hanging with the crew at Gordon Biersch was cool but the bill was odd. It was slightly a little too much than what everybody thought it was. Drinks are too expensive nowadays. I remember when one of my supervisors were leaving we all went out for a drink. We got to the bar and we got in before it was open, so there were no customers. I wanted to ake my old school 'velvet' but i couldn't since i wasn't home and i doubt the bar peeps would let me mix my own drink. It didn't matter drinks at bars are soo expensive! and at breweries should have drinks cheaper shouldn't it? The stuff is made right there! Wassup with that?

anyways the next day i go from work to meet Roxanne at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin festival on the moto. Man the moto is really the best way to go! Traffic? what Traffic? 5$ for parking? nah no thanks, i'll park anywhere i want.. The festival was more fair than pumpkin this, pumpkin that yanno? There were pumpkin ice cream, cakes, pies. But that was it, it did take up their whole downtown main street. but there were tons of craft booths, TONS. i think the best was the junkyard art dood. There was live music at 3 spots in the street which was cool. They had the 1180pound monster world-record setting pumpkin. It didn't seem big but i guess looks can be decieving, kids were crawling to get up on it. Got pumpkin?

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 6 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 30min (with snoring that i could hear!)

Well after fiddling with my broken timer i finally fixed it. Actually i never knew why it didn't work. I thought the batteries were dead, so i got a new one. It would work but it wouldn't run. I took it apart and really wanted to smash it up but instead i wiped off some crap that was on the breadboard and reassembled it and it works! Except that the Numbers 1 and 0 buttons need extra pressing to make it go, it doesn't matter i'll just improvise. (improvize? i feel a bit british for a bit.)

But at work i was whatever, usual madness. It's like that dood that escaped off the top floor of the jail. People wonder how in the world did he sneak that one or, doesn't people notice? If you were an inmate theres at least 2 things to think of 24/7.. One is how to take out someone, and the other is how to skedaddle outtro. Now granted that not everybody does this but in the world of security, thats what you assume they are thinking. It's kinda paranoid but thats the world noadays isn't it?

i think theres something in my room, yesterday i couldn't sleep a lick, i kept hearing things.. is that a bad thing? not a in-my-head kinda thing but noises-around-my-room kinda thing.. i zoinked out so hard at lunchtime i could hear myself snore! thats a sign of tiredness!

I bought the Sound of Music DVD, i keep forgetting that the thing is 3 hours long!!! A normal DVD's chapters is from 15-20something.. Well the sound of music has 61 chapters.. I think this movie is the all-time greatest in the world. It's a happy movie, there aren't many happy movies around.

Reloading. i trimmed somemore, it took less than an hour and i think i did maybe 50? 40? But they're really shiny! =) Tedious is the word.. I still got the 30-06's! ack

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 8 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 30min

I find it interesting.

It's like one of them theories of the full moon creating more crime and problems. I think this theory works due to the fact that it sets up the day and how it's gonna run. But..
It always seems that when i get on my bicycle, whatever happens during the jouney to work is whats going to happen at work. Normally its a gentle ride, at an ok pace, a pace in which i'd normally hit all the lights. Today i left home 5 minutes early, i was faced with Street Sweepers, Garbage Trucks, and an odd number of cars. Following a garbage truck is a very bad thing. A Very Smelly Bad Thing. Anyways i get to work and alot of things happen, they might not be bad things but they are things in which involve alot of work. I like to call it.. "Working for your money." Those are those rare moments in which it's all hectic and madness and everybody wants everything from you.

I finally got the scores back from the October High Power Match. Somehow i manage to win 1st for the marksman group. It's kinda odd, if you shoot the next classes score twice in a row, you get to go up to that class. I wonder if you can do the opposite. Errr i guess not.

Me n My Moto.. and 150miles.

Ahh yea i got on my bike, fueled up. 3 gal or so, and rode onwards to Alice's or the Four-Corners. I never figured how far the journey is, but i ride and ride, i haven't been out there in a while, but it was enjoyable. Relaxing, in the forest. Feeling up the curves of the road. I get home and woo! 130+ miles. and it took 2 hours. i never knew. i had to fill up again.. heh, thats the usual limit of the tank. 3.5 gal out of a max of 4.5, the low-fuel light starts up around 135 miles.. man thats far! But i got to see all the pumpkins in their fields! Weee pumpkin festival at Half Moon Bay.. And they just broke a new world record for the largest pumpkin! 1181 pounds! woo!!

reloading: did some more brass, this is tedious work!.. trim trim.. measure measure.. trim trim.. i'm 1/5th done but i still got more to tumbleack! Ack!

LaptopI'm finding this Acer Laptop a good deal, but i'm going to wait (like always). $1299 before 200$ rebate Centrino 1.3 512mb/40gb 2x dvd burner! 15" xga 6.2lbs. The only drawback is the video ram is shared 64mb of it. *ick* thats the only thing stopping me.. one of the 100$ rebates is from Acer and that doesn't expire till the end of the year, and the other 100 is from bestbuy. So i'm waiting for the evolution of the laptop one more step so that i can get either on the newer step or get a deal on an older one.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 4 out of 10 (Was working as the visiting officer. Sorry No Conjugal visits!)
NapTime During Lunch: Not really asleep, just really sleeping, while on the phone..

Woooweeee!

Pauls Grand Spetacular Dinner was just that! Madness! Well whenever you email everybody on your list but only get like 10 people replying, doesn't mean that 10 people are coming. In this instance, 27 arrived. Paul reserved for 15, but thought about it and figured that 20+ are coming and asked for the reservations bumped up. Well the lovely people at Bucca De Beppo said that the table reserved can hold to 20. Ookay. The crew came by and was blown away at the Number of seats to People ratio, and it didn't quite match 1:1. They managed to have eaten while they were waiting due to such things as Filipino Time and what not. The Dinner was written to be at 7:30. the Actual reservations was for 8pm, the REAL time where we sat down was ~8:30. So the crew did the honorable thing and sacrificed themselves for the good of the person to seating ratio. The group got knocked to 23, i wonder if sherwin ate. Poor boy, everybody in the crew ate but him.

Everything was fine except that as you notice, The grand Pope John Paul the 2nd was with us in dinner.
Normally I eat dinner around 7pm, i go to bed around 10pm the latest. Roxanne eats dinner around 5pm so you know where this is going, it's 9pm and the appitizers come. We're dying and hungry.
There were antics and shenanigans left n right especially Paul's left hand man there Aaron Bowers who usually leads paul to the dark path. It was crazy and fun!
In the end we got to indulge in this:

To the lower right of Paul is yes (smiling very happily).. a pair of breasts cake. At this angle it's the top part and on Paul's view it's of a lady's chest with the breasts as the cake. It was a strawberry, custard filled cake. Not bad, a little sweet though.
After dinner i headed home since i had to go off to work at 6am. I got back around 11:15pm. It felt like i was on the swing shift again!

Reloading: I've started to resize about 50 or so .223 brass, Most of the brass trimmed to 1.750. Alot are 1.7495"-1.7510", depending on where it sits on the digital caliper. Some Federal Brass that somehow i've picked up is only around 1.7340" Thats odd. The Speer Book and most ammo websites state max. Length of brass 1.760". Trim to:1.750". But i've only done about 50 or so, this is tiring work! and i've got 400+ man o man..

Oops! i forgot to add this..

More on the Gary Coleman Political Front as he himself in David Letterman's Top 10 list. Yesterdays Topic:
"Top Ten Ways California Would Be Different If I, Gary Coleman, Had Been Elected Governor"

8. "Thanks to my innocent charm, I'd get away with 60% more groping"

7. "I guess I'd have to quit my job as a security guard"

...

2. "I would form a task force to find out exactly what Willis was talking about"

Gary Coleman Rules!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2 out of 10 (in training, but had to do things in training..ick.)
NapTime During Lunch: none

I had one of those lovely training days (not like the movie), where it was updates on CPR, AEDs (those little boxes that help heart attack peoples), and some Life Health type stuff, stuff which your supposed to do in order to die happy, not die suffering, die happy..
Our instructor is the lovely Ben Dorcy, he trains every emergency personnel in the city of s.f. so he's got a good gig (teach the same thing year after year)and is well known. Well he's also well known to gross you out by various methods. Every training session i do i must turn in an evaluation in order for the big wigs to see if the classes taught are effective in what the teachers are doing. You've probably seen it, 'rate how the instructor is knowledgable in the class.' and 'does the instructor use multimedia effectively in class (handouts, videos, demonstrations, whatever). Yea Mr. Dorcy excels in the multimedia section. He romps around all them websites for gross videos, or pictures, and blasts us with them everytime i go to his yearly 'refresher' course. To me it's semi-gross but he exclaims that he does it to desensitize you from all the blood, n guts and everything else. Then after the wonderful picture show he goes around and tells everybody that they are going to die due to simple things.
i.e. My buddy was sitting next to me. He had a bottle of drinking water sitting on the table. Like most of my classes you can pull out your fridge and eat what you want in these classes. Well Mr. Dorcy sees the bottle and tells my buddy 'hey your gonna die drinking that stuff.' Trust me it's a typical thing Mr. Dorcy does, you just kinda hafta take it and figure out a smart remark back. So of course when he says such things your kinda dumbfounded about bottle water. So he says 'the benzene in the plastic will leak out into the water after a while, how long as it been out?' We look at the bottle and it's made and filled 09/24/03 and it expires 09/24/05. My buddy states that it's only been a month, and Mr. Dorcy gives you that uh-huh-ya-sure-good luck-look. So usually after class i feel like i was in one of them typical medical classes, where after the students learn about a new disease or symptom, they somehow start showing exact signs of this new disease or symptom. Well i usually get that way for maybe 2 days then it's back to normal.
The only thing that peaked my interest is Soda PoP.. He's never talked about it. It works like this..
1 sugar cube, heck do they make them anymore? where the old bugs bunny cartoons, bugs would ask elmer fudd, one lump or two? and he'd hammer elmer with a mallet of somesort. Well 1 sugar cube is 4grams of sugar. 4 grams of sugar is about 15 calories.
Pepsi has about 41 grams of sugar
Coke has 39.. Both equal around 10 lumps of sugar in each can. Can you say ouch?

So the odd part of this is.. This yearly refresher course i just took around May or so.. WhassupWithThat?

Reloading: I've done my 2nd batch of brass to the tumbler, the only thing that i'm not liking is the media going into the brass. i've got to pour them out before putting them in ziplock bags in order for me to resize them. And that media stuff is going everywhere! weeee!!! The neat thing is that everything that i got has directions, it's not like i'm gonna be left alone to set myself up for explosion.
Now i've gotta find a way to mount the case trimmer.. Heck i've gotta find a way to mount the reloader when i order it.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 9 out of 10 (Running Around like a Headless chicken!)
NapTime During Lunch: 29min (Leg fell asleep when i woke up!)

Recall recall!! What! No Gary Coleman?!

Whelp that was fun, now that we boot one for another i wonder if the trend is gonna continue. With people in the bangbangbang mood, they want things fast, quick, and NOW!. If they aren't happy with it. *boom* a few million dollars and a new leader is raised. For a moment i felt like i was in France, where the people have the power to vote out their constitution. France is on it's 8th or 9th draft. Something like that, i wonder if we're turning into france? *eek!*

So the votes so far are like this :

Arnold Schwarzenegger 3,743,393
Cruz M. Bustamante 2,432,446
Tom McClintock 1,026,481

I thought McClintock had alot of good solutions, facts, numbers, ideas. Bustamante had some good ideas and solutions, but he just looks shady. That and all his pro-mexifornia action makes me barf. Arnold is to me all show, no go. Elections are made for that, it's called the popular vote, and well Arnolds popular. Let's see what kinda magic he can bust out. Obviously california is very slowly coming out of it's economic mess, therefore if it even looks like the economy is looking up gee. Look what Arnold did! Unfortunately the ebb n flow of economics is a pattern that can be seen since the beginning of modern economics. Ups n Downs.. I just hope i get my house before the Ups really go up!

There were two sets of people i was really into looking:

Larry Flynt 15,454
Gary Coleman 12,683

I wanted to vote for Larry Flynt, but he had an interview and was opposed to the recall. So i'm wondering, why is he in the recall if he opposes the recall? Does it make sense? Heck Does 135 candidates make sense? Nope this is one of them outrageous Hollywood (in my mind) things where it's all about flash and boom, but will it solve any of the states problems? Time will only tell. To me this was one of them things where something bizzare and whacky is gonna come out of it.

Then theres the two porn stars:

Mary "Mary Cary" Cook 10,110
Angelyne 2,261

Then theres:

Michael Jackson 661
Is that the real King of pop? Nope, sorry, just some dood.

In other news, i got my reloading accessories! woot! i've got the tumbler working on my first batch of ammo. The Tumbler came with somesorta green stuff 'media'. I'll use that until it won't use no more and go for the walnut i suppose. Now i've gotta make room for all this stuff! ack!

Tuesday, October 07, 2003

Weeeee!

Finally i updated my webpage, pics of the Filoli. Funfunfun!

The wrist is doing better, the back is getting straighter (i suppose). Lately i have been having dreams that i finally remember! That fall musta done something to me. But the only dreams that i remember was one of trying to Trick this swarm of bees. Another was one of a bus accident and i was inside the bus. Another was seeing roxannes car change lanes. What does it all mean? I got this new Tempurpedic pillow to align my back some more and last night was the first time i used it. I don't know if it worked or not, but i got up and sorta twisted my back like if i was stretching, and the whole back (sounded like it) cracked, every vertebrae.. Crrrrrrr-aaaaack.. This pillow is alot more harder than the one bought at costco but it does prop the head more. Those commercials show it as the pillow that absorbs you into it or molds itself around, well it needs quite some weight to do that.

i know i wanna get the reloader, but i'm trying to find the space for it. It seems that i'm gonna hafta relocate everything again. All the accessories are coming tommorrow! woo!!!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2! out of 10 (really bored, until 1:45pm)
NapTime During Lunch: 35min!

I search at this one place for a Dillon Reloader deal.. well the stuff i want n all comes out to another 450$!! ugh, screw it i'm getting sick of the rifle jamming.. I dunno though, the parts are fine, it's lubed / oiled / cleaned.. how much more high maintainence does this rifle get? it's not even a precision made rifle, where it's built on higher tolerances thus making it more picky. oh well.. lala..

Saturday, October 04, 2003

Ugh! Fricking Unreliable crap!

lately theres been a string of events in which things that are supposed to work, don't.. and it's been irritating me left n right! The latest is at my match, with this new ammo, 62gr. SS109's by Remington, they SUCK! either that or my rifle doesn't like it, it misfeeds, doublefeeds, it locks the bolt halfway. all sorts of crap, my rifle won't function with this. And the rifle isn't a tuned thing where it gets picky. Well i had to shoot the match with the rifle acting like a bolt gun until it double-feeds. then it's a whole new thing. I had to alibi on both rapid firing stages! My final result is a score of 400.. HELLA Weak!
Thats it, i was gonna wait till xmas for the reloader but i'm gonna order one monday. I already got a .223 recipie from some of the master shooters. 24gr. Varget powder, on a 69gr bullet. 68gr hornadys are ok too. with winchester 7 1/2 primers.

It seems that nothing has been working or is going the way it's supposed to be going, lately i feel as if i've gonna make everything myself in order for it to operate. It's irritating me left n right!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 3 out of 10 (too easy.. kinda scary)
NapTime During Lunch: 42min!

Yesterday the family and roxanne had a lil dinner for Roxannes Birthday and My dad's Chinese Birthday (Lunar Calendar). Roxanne wants a big daddy-romper room style get together at her apartment. Pool table! Ping-pong table! weee! but scheduling and the overall busyness is preventing her from getting your pooltable on!

Today i'm tech supporting peoples again. Computers suck! It went full circle, kinda neat but kinda odd. n Tommorrow is another rifle match.. Time to use these gift certificates for shooting. hopefully i'll get to the sharpshooter class (at least).
