Weather Conditions at Northstar : 3/3 Blue Sky, Green Trees, Blinding White Snow ..
Snow at Northstar: It's like Confectioners sugar, but it's packed. Packed Powder? it was grabby at times though, couldn't go full speed..

My brother and i get to northstar slightly lateish.. like 10am, and we were forced to park in the STICKS.. the lot goes by letters, we were in the J section which is named after my favorite run Jibboom.. *jeez* I bust out the Mint Chocolate Milk in the Nagene bottle and immediately put it into the freezer section of the parking lot.. Now Delilah, make sure nobody steals the milk!! i covered it so that only the blue handle was showing..

We metup with our coworker and roam for a bit. His wife is still getting used to the whole ski thing. TwinSticked peoples! All in all it was fun, we sorta left early, but it was enough, i'm trying to get my brother into terrain park mode.. Boxes!

Come back to see that Delilah did fend off vandals trying to steal my mint chocolate milk.. Time to bust out the stove. That gold box.. yep Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. A dab will do you.. a splash is even better! I was out there heating the milk and everybodys walking by.. so i started shouting Mint choco milkies 1$!!!
No one took up the offer though. =(

With my new board settings it felt almost natural to be in. I felt a higher state of being, it was odd. Sorta Zenish. I did more things effortlessly, it was odd. I was hitting the boxes like never before. Am i ready for the next level?

Oh yes.. it's here.. and i think i am ready for the next level.. Can't wait to try it out! woohoo!
Mint Choco Milkies anybody??

p.s. for some unknown reason i couldn't post all 3 pics together.. tweaky tweaky!

Ahh yea.. Weather today is pretty good. i rate it 2 out of 3.. All i want is 1) Blue Skys, 2) Green Trees and 3) Blinding White snow.. Maybe tommorrow, when my brother n i go on another board meeting!
i've got some coworkers who now have the snowboarding bug. One's up there with his wife in reno roaming the slopes for the past few days. Let's see if i can get him to the terrain park again.. heh. This may be my last ride with my Rossignol Levitation 160.. It's been a very good board to me. My brother might have a home for it with one of his buddies. Let's see how the palmer does first..

Preppared more .223 cases.. i did half a gallon bag in the week.. it's killing me.. hopefully i have enough for at least 400rnds. i might go custom too. i think this is getting too crazy. Bullets specifically made for the 22-rounds of offhand and 12-rounds of slow fire prone. then another batch of bullets for the rapid-fires..
Been dry firing a bit for saturday, another match coming up. Must.. Focus.. Must.. reach.. Master.. Class..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2 out of 10 (man it was busy)
NapTime During Lunch: 24min

More Training begins.. For this silly Triathlon, i was staring at the elevation map of my destined bicycle ride and i noticed something.

The course is described as:
The bike course is 40K (24.8 miles) long and should be considered relatively difficult.
and:
Cyclist will leave the transition area to the north and proceed directly up "Lynch Hill" (a very steep climb.)
The first (killer) sharp uphill seems to be almost 400ft vertical in less than a mile. So i looked around the bay area topographical maps (online of course) and found that since i live on TOP of a hill, the climb might be similar in elevation. I found one such hillclimb. At Hickey Blvd. and Gellert, all the way to the top at Skyline Blvd. is about a 500 ft verticle in 3/4 mile.. Thats where my training will be. I did it today and it sucked! I had flashbacks of going up California Street (from Kearny to the Fairmont hotel) in downtown S.F. and of my Mount Davidson rides back in the day..
I love the hills, but downhilling is always better than uphilling.
ToAsTy's Rule of Bicycling.. 1) it's always uphill somehow.. and 2) if it's not uphill the stupid wind kills you..
When i first started mountain biking in s.f. it was from my (s.f.) house to mount davidson. Which is a 575ft rise and i think i measured it to be 1.2-1.4 miles. i did that everyday for summer. The fastest i took getting up top was 9minutes, which was with my crazy Singaporean Roomie (the uphiller, i'm the downhiller), but my usual average was about 12-15min.
It took forever (2-3months) on my bicycle computer to get the odometer to 400miles Then i moved to fresno for college. In 3 weeks i almost busted 400 miles on the flat bleh streets.
Climbing them puppies was on my mountain bike, the gearing is easier. I'm doing it now on road gearing.. I have a fixed front gear of 54 tooth, while my mountain bike front chainring is 22-32-44tooth. i don't even want to talk about the rear cogset.

Woohoo *dances like a giddy fruit* my board is coming! But it's slated to arrive when i'm up in the mountains.. *bah!* =(

Added Monkeyboy Mattys' Blog and Andy's Blog to the mix.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 38min

Whelp i won another ebay battle.. this time scoring a 02' Palmer 158cm Carbon Circles Snowboard in pretty good - excellent condition for 111$ shipped.. i've been eyeing a palmer since they came out around '98.. They were the first boards made with any sort of carbon fiber in them. The originals were the lightest, fastest decks out there, but the only downfall was cost and if the board took a big hit it could snap. The Palmers were made for a new kind of racing, boardercross. Just imagine 4-6 people going down a track on snowboards trying to beat each other without tripping each other! Year after year they'd get better and better. Busting out things like Honeycomb technology, Kevlar - aramid layering and titanium edging. They also had a see-through snowboard last year! The honeycomb is the lightest structure built with the least amount of material, just ask them buzzing bees. Palmers are still costly beasts. Starting from $400-850! It's quite a board, it's all about technology..
i remember 2 years or so ago i was at Alpine Meadows at their last-week sale. 20$ lift tickets and what not, and at the end of the day i went to the demo board shop and they had several Palmer Boards, and i think a Carbon Circle for $250, i almost wanted to get it, but since i've only used my current board for 2 seasons, it didn't feel like it was worth it.
Ebay is soo cool.. Now i feel for 111$ it's worth it..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 40min

Happy Psycho Bunnie day for everybody!
And also Weee Happy berfday J!

Been doing nada lately. fluffielady is off to bakersfield for a bit.. woohoo i finally get the WHOLE bed to myself. it fells kinda nice actually.
So in my spare time i go .223 case prepping.. taking forever, but then i haven't reloaded it in a while. My Lake City brass.. i should just toss them and get another 1k for 70$.. .223's are at the balencing point of if reloading is worth it or not. For precision shooting i think it is.. but for 3-gun'ing it's not. But then i'm gonna need some cheapie rounds for that.

I gave in and went for the big daddy dsl service. I was paying 26.99 for 1.5mbps / 256 kbps dsl. and SBC's new scam is 29.99 for 3.0 mbps / 512 kbps.. why not. let's see if i actually do download faster. Faster Naruto downloads! woohoo! i'm still waiting for my Vdsl.. one day it'll be in effect.. that and wireless cities. Only Taipei is free wireless.. Taiwan trip anyone? (just so everybody could bring their laptops and chat while sitting next to each other.. heh)

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1.5 out of 10(+6 hours of OT)
NapTime During Lunch: 34min

Man today was busy.. i had to handle another self-lacerater. Yep, off to the hospital we go.

Hmmz, it seems that i left out my new term when i snowboard. It's called SUV'ing. My snowboard is built for mountain riding, and it runs over all the lumpy-bumpies.. ala Syntax 'My Board SUV'd all through that crap..' heh..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1 out of 10(ugh back to work!)
NapTime During Lunch: 10min here, 15min there.

i knew it.. once i stepped into work, that smell.. That Bloody Smell!!!

Anywho, I've got Pics from what Fluffielady took at Paul and Christina's Wedding. You'll need an imagestation account. Hmmz since they have this new uploader thing i might put up some of my pics that many peoples have probably never seen.

Vegas was cool, friday we had the worst service with the line Nazi at American West. Theres three lines, and it only had about 10 people. Someone told a couple behind us to go into the third line, which was meant for the 'paper check-in'. Ok, so we go there and this lady tells us that we're in the wrong line, we should go to the middle one. From our view the sign at that line said First Class, ok, we go there and wait and who do we get? That same Nazi Lady, and she made some wisecrack about our sign reading capability. That set fluffielady off.. We almost got denied entry all for a stupid sign. American West kinda sucks anyway, the stewards were kinda rude on both flights. On the way to vegas, i guess we had a fighter pilot, 'cuz he was swinging the plane left n right like it was dodging missles or something. But it was a way to delay the flight for a later landing. i was asleep so i didn't know what was going on.
We land and it was masses of humanity in Vegas, people all over the place! Everybody all going bonkers for 2 things, a Boxing Match and March Madness. We check in and get to the chapel for rehearsal. Funfun, afterwards we were treated to Seafood Buffet at the Rio, at 38$ woo!
Afterwards, roamed around, we went to three Banana Republics in 2 days. The first had no sale, the second had a limited sale section, and the third everything was on sale. Eventually all the big Casinos had the same stuff. Went to sleep about 10:30. The weather was ok.
Woke up Saturday and called Paul at about noon, i hear this groggy voice, ok, party on daddy-o! hung up, he got to bed at 6am doing vegas stuff.. What happens in vegas, well you know the rest. We took at nap at 2-3:30pm, got suited and booted for the wedding. There was supposed to be a rehearsal at 4:30 but when we got there people were just milling around. It was the same at our wedding. Oh well, got the final details done, the games began..
The priest seemed like a cool dood, he looked like Bob Barker. Right when Paul n Christina was about to say their vowes it starts to pour. We were in a fiberglass greenhouse and you can hear the pitter patter of rain, it didn't start from a gentle tap, it came full on. Some people say it's a sign, others say it's a cleansing effect. I dunno, it just seemed to be timed a bit too good. It was fun, i found the lush table too late, and i forgot to start drinking the alkies.. Man somethings wrong with me, so i tried to play catch-up but they closed. Fun's over at 10pm. The gang wanted to go bar hopping, but old fogies like us went to bed, at 1am. (Man 1am is late!) Called paul up the next day to hear a clear awake voice, but yet he went to sleep at 6am like the night before. We checked out, left our bags at Paul's roamed a bit. I found out that Fluffielady is a serious Buffet Fiend.. Really Serious!

Weather Conditions at SugarBowl: Partly Cloudy, it said chance of snow showers but nada ..
Snow at SugarBowl: More Raw Sugar, Some very hard packed snow, got soft laterwards..

Ahhh yea back to my old ski home. It was cool, we rode till about 2:45pm then headed out early. Both Capt'n D and i had flights going tommorrow, so we had to leave early to pack. Capt'n D broke my speed record to a max speed of 48.1 mph, i tried to beat it but the gps was getting silly on me. "lost satillite reception" a few times, then low battery.. oi! oh well, i'm done with the speeding, i just want to fly..
Which we did after lunch, i can do the midsized launchpads, and tried the larger ones but barely made it over those things! I biffed hard once and i knew it once i took off.. doesn't that suck, when you know the second you take off? At least it wasn't as hard as the one hit i took a month+ ago.

Sad thing was that it was a bit fast, 4-days and thats it.. I'd like to thank Mr. 10-7M for the hookups, he's da man!

Now must pack for Vegas!

Meet up at the BoardRoom Peoples!

2-for-1 tube action!

Weather Conditions at Alpine Meadows: Cloudy, Gloomy, High winds at times, kinda nippy..
Snow at Alpine Meadows: More Raw Sugar, Some very hard packed snow, some ice capading..

There goes the tube pic that i was supposed to put yesterday.. heh
Today went by pretty fast actually. Our nickname for Alpine Meadows is the Alpine Gully. We seemed to have hit every ravine, gully, valley. It was like a mini-natural-half pipe. Man that stuff is tiring!
Well my new settings seemed ok, in the beginning it was hurting my right ankle. But after one more adjustment and after lunch i was getting the hang of the new setting, and the ankle hurt went away. Before it felt more frontside heavy. Now it's more flat and balenced, which is good when i'm looking for the jumps but not so good when i want to carve and need to move swiftly. I think i just need to get used to it. I think it's better. Sometimes it turns in easier, sometimes it doesn't turn at all. i'll make it work.

Tommorrow is Sugarbowl time. Then it's all over.. =( poo!

Weather Conditions at Northstar: Excellent, not a cloud in sight..
Snow at Northstar: Some slush, kinda like raw sugar..

Today Capt'n D and 10-7M roamed about northstar again for fun. We went tubing and that was crazy. Not only can you go on your own down the run, but you can go in multiples. We did 2,3, and 6 people linked up.. Utter madness. Other than that it was fun.

We went back to 10-7M's house and watched Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. It's one of those vulgar , foul noised, whacked out, after teen movies. Kinda like Half Baked, American Pie, and Something About Mary.. All that whackyness for some 2.5 inch squared burgers. heh

Tommorrow we're gonna hit Alpine Meadows.. and i've adjusted my board.. let's see how this works out to be..

Yay my new friend from Circus Circus!!

Weather Conditions at Northstar: Excellent, not a cloud in sight..
Snow at Northstar: Some slush, some ice, but ok..

Capt'n D brought his new toy GPS up the mountain. It's kinda nifty, small compact, slightly stubby though. It's pretty accurate and good except for one point near Auburn. For some unknown reason the gps wanted to go back south and then do a u-turn to go north.. silly thing!
And while reaching Truckee, we manage to make the gps crash. We turned too many turns while it was trying to recalculate the journey.. heh
What was also neat with the gps was that we brought it up with us up the Mountain. I managed to obtain the max speed record. 43.9mph.. Goodlordy, even i have no idea how i got that fast. We tried and tried some more to break it, but it was getting kinda hairy doing silly things like that.. It didn't sound like we were going breakneck speed, we were going at breakneck speed.. i'm done with that speed stuff, i just want to jump about!
Met up with the coworkers, and roamed a bit. it was a fun day.

Afterwards went off to reno to eat at the El Dorado Buffet.. Me and buffets don't work no more. I can't bust the plates and plates of fillers and what not. But before the gang coagulated, the Capt'n and I went off to get our Martini's.. Mmm Melomargatini.. yumz.. and i won this stuffed animal at circus circus. I remember playing all those times with vicks and roz and the gang, the game where you roll the ball into these multicolored holes and it moves either a horse or a camel from the right to the left. Whoever makes it to the end wins.. Yep.. i now have a fuzzie stuffed animal to sleep with.. Since i couldn't stay at Mr. 10-7m's house with his stuffed beaver.. =p i liked his stuffed beaver too..

Tommorrow we ride some more.. we hear northstar opens at 8:30.. yae baby! wake up at 8am.. we're about 10min away.. weee!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 21min

This is pimp! Too bad it's 300$ Coming Fall '05..
Get some Lego Tie Fighters and X-Wings and there ya go!
I got my new Leatherman Juice S2, 30$ total from, whereelse? Ebay! woot!

Another car gets a MiniMac! But the doods blog is unavailable.. He's put it in a 2001 GTi, with an iPod dock! Sweet..
Maybe that might be my next car Mod.. Every year Delilah gets new bits and goodies. This year the only thing left is, Exhaust (don't want the noise), Rims (no room for the stock rims), LSD (needs to do that with the clutch, which is $), Clutch (it's still good for at least another 15k+ miles). I wonder how easy it is to move the battery to the trunk, or to do a Mac Mini install. Or i can just sit n save up for the clutch, which is the next thing that should need service.
Delilah! Delilah!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 31min (Finally!)

Yea baby! my favorite rip-you-off-computer store CompUSA just got screwed.. Now if my Momento Memory works, i don't remember any rebates that haven't made it. But thats the point, they either want you to 1)not bother with the whole form filling, UPC code cutting. Or 2) Hope that you forget after you do file a rebate..
I'm glad CompUSA got the shaft, i've never been back to one ever since i couldn't get my Max Payne 2 on sale.. Burn suckers Burn!!

Now i'm packing for a 4-day board meeting, then another 3-day vegas bash.. Goodness, bouncing all over the place!

Today Fluffielady and i went to the beach.. goodness, i haven't been to a North Cali beach since high school. It was warm and nice, we hung out there for 2.5hrs or so! Scary! Well letting my legs see the sun is even more scarier! woo!

Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Snapped Some caps with the coworkers (don't worry carol, your next).. i think i found a suitible round for my PPC ammo.. 4.3grains @ 1.150" i loaded both that load and another at 4.0 grains @ 1.35" the latter had shots going to the left. It had good elevation but it was at least 1.5inches to the left. i brought my USP, Glock 17 and my favorite .22 pistol and was ready to go. When i got there the range staff was busy doing practice tests for this silly test that some people had a hard time. i only had time to shoot the usp with the two different loads. Then off to eats, my coworkers go to the range just to eat.. they'd shoot about 10 shots and would say.. 'ok where are we gonna eat at today?' My other shooting buddy all he does is drink before and drink after he shoots.. what a lovely crowd i hang out with.

i've been playing with Adobe Premiere Pro and it's cool! Combined with Photoshop and holysmokes! i like computers..

I forgot to scribble about my netflix movies.. i'm glad it's rent and chuck.. i saw The Duel, a chinese kung-fu kinda deal, kinda hokey. It was going all ok until it gets sidetracked with some sneaky plot to kill the emperor. Then it went downhill.
Same with Momento.. Everybody raved about it, it seemed like a good one. It's about this guy who has say 10 clues. The guy has very poor memory and is from san francisco (hey.. i can do that!) Some of his memories, he's got on polaroid with jotted notes, others are actually tattoo'd onto him. It's a murder mystery type deal, the guys wife gets killed. The movie is also ran backwards. You see a scene, then you see the previous one. And each leads into each other and also goes back on them 10 clues. Well at about the last 3, it's like they ran out of budget or something and just end it there. The last 5 minutes becomes one of these look-deep-in-your-soul-and-find-something-but-they-won't-tell. Kinda thing. The ending sucked. Actually the story made alot of sense until the ending, then it's takes that turn.. and you never find out a bunch of things. i think they're trying to make you forget.
Now i was about to do something but what was it?

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2.5 out of 10 (Got held over for 1.5hrs of OT)
NapTime During Lunch: 15min

Well, this new lunch thingie we got at work is gonna get interesting. All to save $$.. I think in essence it will save money, because the food they made is so-so depending on the circumstances.
Got held over to run about in the hospital. I'd like to thank Mr. 10-8 for taking over.. Cash money baby!

Called home to say that i'm held over, then called to say i'm going home.. got home and fluffielady hasn't got back yet, so deleted them 2 messages. Fluffielady didn't turn on the venting today but felt the headache after school was done. She got home at 6 and all she wanted to do was eat and nap, which is whats going on right now.

Case prepped some more Lake City Brass for about 45min. I need 100rnds of 68gr. another 100 of 68grainers loaded long (see if that works), and another 100 80 grainers. thats a whole lotta brass to shave!

Oh ya forgot to mention.. i got the replacement Roomba and made it run around. on it's 3rd go it actually completed it's mission and went back!! 1st time ever! now i dunno if it's 'cuz it actually did the whole room or if it got stuck on the pathway from the front door to the charger and thinking that was that. Silly thing! I like it's silly beeping sounds though.. i love my roomba!

Dangit.. 8 points away from Master Class..
(Oops! 462, not 362! Edited 03/10/05) 462 - 15x.. At least my x-count ramped up..

It was wierd that leaving home it was sunny as heck, and driving by s.f. and getting to the Bay Bridge it looked as if someone turned on the fog machine. It was semi-fogged for a while. I got onto the 2nd relay.. It was foggy for the first relay but it all burned off when i was shooting.. It seemd like family day, there were sons and daughters of some of the shooters today. i like shooting on sundays, it's more relaxed than all these competitve shooters on saturday. My offhand was mush.. the lowest i've ever shot in a while.. 172.. i had 5's and 6's!!! Well the new tubb's spring and carrier weight system not only changed the recoil and what not, i think it actually changed the personality my rifle.. 'debbie'.. i just happen to buy a used rifle case with that name stickered all over it. I had to take a while to get used to the recoil, there was almost none. it was scary! and on standing i actually started to anticipate the recoil.. How do you anticipate lower recoil? It was bizarre..
Kinda like one exhibit at the exploratorium, where you shoot 10 baskets, then shoot another 10 while looking through this periscope type thing, then shootings another 10 normally. The second time you shoot it goes all awry. kinda trippy!
In other annoying shooting news.. 2nd time in a row! at the 600 yard slow prone, my first 5 shots were X's. Then a 10.. then a bloody 9.. Then another 2 x's and another 10.. 99 with 7 x's!! bah!!! Shooting the rapids i barely made it on position alone, which is what your supposed to be doing but i've gotta get used to the timing of it all..

But the night before it was Todai's Foodfest! we started at 6pm.. and left 10minutes before 9pm.. goodness! We were farting around mostly. Played some poker and of course when i wanna leave is when i'm winning.. Whats up with that?

Met up with Capt'n D at the IPSC range, a whole lotta people running and gunning at that range.

Next month.. i'm now used to debbie, i'm pretty confident that i will get to the master class..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 2.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 10min here, 10min there

Today's post is sponsored by the Performance Enhancing Oxy-Water. Now i've seen this somewhere and it claims that it's water with oxygen infused in it. Mystikal8Ball is a collector of wasser might know of such. But for me water that has oxygen in it boggles my mind. It makes me say.. HowDooYooDooDat? Theres a link with scientific proof.. It's almost like this packs of Trident White Chewing Gum.. it says 'Not a Low Calorie Food'.. so is chewing 2 pieces of gum gonna give me gout or diabeties 'cuz if it's not a low calorie food then it must be a high calorie food.

What is this world coming to?

In other news.. Fluffielady may have found her cause of the monday sickies.. Yes we all feel like crap everytime monday comes around, but shes gets this dibilitating can't-do-jack,-feel-like-mush kinda day.. It may be in the vents. She has the power to control the venting in her studio and hasn't turned it on in the past 2 days and says shes feeling a whole lot better and has actually started to dance with the kids again. She stopped for a while 'cuz of that feel-like-doodoo mondays, which last for at least 3 days.. Maybe she needs some oxygenated water and cut the Trident Gum?

*yawn* mornings peoples..

Going through the usual tech news:

This is what i'm talking about.. i betcha it'll beat that time me and my brother went offroad on them Razor Kick Scooters at Mount Davidson.. The only difference is the kick bike was $30 this puppy is $5000. And from what i learned with the razor scooter is that it needs bigger wheels for that occassional tree root that juts ever so slightly..

Also there were rumors that the new Mac Mini has the same dimensions as a DIM slot for car audio decks.. Well this Mac Mini isn't in a DIM slot but it's got potential.. i know Mystical8Ball might have a fit seeing these pics.. i wonder if i should stick one of these in my future car.. i can blog whereever i can find an open wireless signal!

Today i'm gonna make some pistol bullets and grocery shop.. i really need to get a haircut though..
