Level Of Difficulty at Work: 4.0 out of 10 (Alot of walking, and stupid LicePeople)
NapTime During Lunch: 35min

Today is lovely hot. Beautiful blue sky, i find it funny that this controversal skii jump deal happens to be on this day. Figuring that a moto is waaay better in navigating the streets of san francisco. I got a parking spot a block away from the madness.

Purdy view of the bay..

The run is pretty steep, the sidewalks have stairsteps in it showing how steep it is. I could do this on my board.. But too many people and too many cops put a damper in it. When i got halfway down, Johnny Mosley was saying 'thanks for coming, if you want us to come again, please leave.' That sorta sucked.

View From the Jump.. One Block down, halfway through the whole section.

You want some of this!

I get to the intersection and theres a 'backup' pile of snow. I grab a piece and take a photo. Immediately i get pelted by a snowball, lovely, the fight is on. I come to realize that this 8 year old is going after everybody. Too bad poor kid, he got it back! This moto jacket is waterproof! woo! I figure this is the equivalent of a water -gun fight in the middle of summer. But boo to the security people, who came over and told people to scat.. bah!
Everybody seemed to enjoy it, all but one lady who was frazzled running up and down screaming that 'it's a mess' and 'this is horrible!' and 'he wants to come back, oh no!'. shaddup lady, no property was destroyed. I think if they were to do it next year, to do it at a shallower street and be able to let kiddies sled down the hills. It's nice as a show, but if it turned into a public experience, that'd be wicked! I nominate my street with a 1.1 mile route. Down Inverness, down hickey, right on Monterey, all the way to the bottom.. If i were one of them Dr. Evil types i'd try to bust some kinda snow ray-gun and *bam* produce snow once in a while.

The Downhill Route

Other news.. My moto hits 20k miles.. wee! oil change this weekend!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 3.0 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 33min

Today is a sad day. i missed the funeral services of a good coworker, skii and martini buddy, Carthell Lewis. When i first started working there i met him and the first thing you immediately noticed was this growth on the back of his neck. He played it off as a birthmark, something he's always had in his life. He had an excellent work eithic, working quite a bit of overtime. Worked hard and played hard. He was always there to assist, gave good advice, didn't badger or harass you unless you were drunk off your rocker at the Roxy Martini bar(it said 102 different types of martini's, one can only buy so many!).
The last time i saw him work was around march / april 2002. He did a day trade with me, worked for me and i was supposed to work for him, because he was planning a trip to the philippines. He joked that maybe i didn't hafta pay him back. The growth had started bothering him. It'd bleed here and there, sometimes painful. Carthell eventually went to a doctor to check it out. He comes to find out it's cancerous. i heard things about him being in a daze, or asleep, tired, zoinked out from the drugs. Then 3 months ago i see him alive and well and chatting it up. He wanted to setup a skii trip, 'cuz he was feeling good to go. 2 weeks later everybody finds out he has 3-7 weeks to go. Everthing went bad in a flash. He passed away on the 23rd of Sept. One of the few good guys at work. During his absence he was on catastrophic leave, it was the only time i could pay him back. I gave him 40 hours of my sick time.
It woulda been nice to badger one of the few twin stick (skii's) riders. I never did get to see his impression of ABC's world of sports' "agony of defeat", which i hear, he did flawlessly at Squaw Valley.

Heres a shot of Patron to you Carthell..

Signs that the end of the world is slowly taking place..

-Fluffielady has a student who has been in her classes for 3 years. The student still can not spell her name.
-How does the work: I'm on my motorcycle on Mission St. It's 2 lane in each direction. One lane says "Bus Only.." the other is for everybody else. Unfortunately the bus is in the normal lane and the bus only lane is empty for the next 2 blocks. HowDooYooFixDat? Luckily on a motorcycle all it takes is a dip of the shoulder, a twist of the wrist and off i go.

Made some bullets today, i've just used another box of primers. Thats 2000 pistol rounds made. Didn't know i made that many already. pop pop pop, off they go.

My brother told me about a final fantasy movie that was never out in the states. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The animation that the squaresoft people create is beautiful! Of course if you spent 48 hours of game time playing Final Fantasy VII, you enjoy the story a little bit more. I almost ditched a Biology Exam because of that game!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1.5 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: 30+min

Pictures from Kim and Brians wedding are up.. at the imagestation..
Sorry to say that i forgot to bring the digi cam to the reception.. =(

Went to the Fog festival.. lordy it felt like yesterday, fluffielady and i stepped into the same street with the same street vendors.. This time it was twice as long but still had the same homemade stuff / junk vendors. There were tons of people, due to the fact of the sunny weather. It's still not as whacked as the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. That one is HUGE but access to the town SUCKS big time. The pumpkin festival still has several vendors who sell junk, like rusted chainsaw blades and rebar, and make them into lawn ornaments / art.. I think with more advertising the fog fest could get it going. I like to call this pacifica deal the diet pumpkin festival, or Pumpkin festival lite.. They weren't selling i love pacifica buttons though.. =( not that i need another one.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 6.5 out of 10 (4hrs OT!)
NapTime During Lunch: 37min

I think i'm a closet knife dood..

(the knife is upside down (blade side up), i changed it for left-handed use)
This is my new toy that i got on ebay for 21$ shipped. The ColumbiaRiverKnife&Tool (CRKT) Van Hoy SnapLock, it swings! After i received this one i realized i have a quite a bit of knives laying around. Of course there are the ones in the kitchen.. My blade of choice for that one is my 7" Wustof Santoku, very nice.. i shoulda got the ones with the 'speed holes' to make cutting (the) cheese and meats easier.
At work i tote the Kershaw Ken Onion Scallion. I got to use that first day on some fool trying to hang himself (for attention sake).
And just laying around i have the Cold Steel Tanto Spike (also called the neck-knife)
I used to carry the CRKT K.I.S.S. until i misplaced it in my locker for eons.. After deciding to clean my locker (For once) i found it. By that time i already got the Scallion.
I also have some 'utility knives' sent from Germany. (Thanks Capt'n D..) They're C.Jul.Herberzt Bolisongs.. They is purdy..
Knives a plenty!

Woo!

Yesterday the crew attended the spiffy wedding of Kim N Brian Gee. Held at the Valley Presbyterian Church at Portola Valley, it has a beautiful view of the redwoods from inside the church. Paul and I were wondering if any speederbikes from star wars were gonna shoot on by. Especially when the priest thanked the audience for coming to the woods, i had a flashback of motorcycling action. Since it is near one of the roads towards Alice's in La Honda.

Got back and busted out the Ebay Suit for the reception in the Rincon Center in Downtown S.F. at Yank Sing, very nice place with a waterfall from the ceiling towards the ground. Too bad our repeated dares to Matty about taking a shower ala, Herbal Essence Commercial didn't go through. Food was excellent, Vince the Man of Honor / MC of the part was pretty good in working the crowd. The only thing we didn't like was that the food took slightly long to get to the table. I think it's the way of the gourmet, where you only eat one dish at a time. 8 dishes in 3 hours comes out to 30minutes a dish. Thats a whole lotta digestion. i'd like to thank Vicks for bringing the hidden stash of -OH molecule (i.e. Alcohols).

It was a pretty good party, Congratulations Kim And Brian! Woowoo!

Let's see.. for next month ...

Sorry Bri, i've made you into the next star wars kid..

Today did some errands, i've paced myself from the past 4 days.. so now i've got some downtime and busted 8 seconds worth of old video and made it special effects-like.. The total filesize is like 400k.. should i go on and complete the whole footage? The only bad part is that some parts doesn't really work, i.e. at one point Brian grabs the end of the staff. So if i were to continue, then can we say he's wearing saberproof gloves or something?? Or maybe record some new footage.. My final goal is to put some stormtrooper blasterfire, and Brian deflecting them.. Hmmm howdooyoodoodat..
It's beautiful what you could find online..

Ahhh yea.. Now we're talking..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 5.0 out of 10 (kinda numb after 16hrs of work yesterday)
NapTime During Lunch: 31min

Lookie at this find at lovely Ebay for 72$ shipped.. It's a Chrony Gamma Model Chronograph. Pretty slick, it came in a hardcase that some rocker dood in the 80's had. The whole kit seemed like it was from the 80's. But it works quite well, came from Reno, thats probably why it has the rocker case. I like UPS, 'cuz it was shipped yesterday and was at the front door today. We didn't even knew it was there until i looked up the UPS number and it said it was delievered.. hah! The Chrono mounts easily on a camera tripod and came with an indoor lighting kit, which is kinda ghetto. it's just two low wattage lamps that mount on top of the sticks. The gamma model is the high end model retailing at $190.. ultra cool. So it being 9pm, i had to try it out. What to shoot! Loaded up my airsoft pistol, it took a while to figure out how to use this thing, it's got two buttons but TONS of functions. Standard Deviation, Sets of 10 shot groups, a whole lotta other things that i haven't figured out yet. My airsoft pistol runs at 302-305fps. So if anybody wants to chrono their airsoft gat, come on over! From 30-7000fps. woot!

Work sucked. I find it funny that one lazy person yells at another lazy person for being lazy.. The logic boggles my numbed mind. Afterwork went to a coworkers place, he's entered the world of DSL.. Oooo, high speed action, next week, if all this works good for him, he wants to enter the next phase of wireless networking.. double Oooo! *Wheres my VDsl!*

Oh one last thing, Saturday at 9pm at the Cartoon Network, Naruto comes to the US! Woohoo starting with Episode 1 and 2.. Cartoon Network has to catch up since japan is at episode 151.

Goodness, it's been busy these past few days..

Saturday i couldn't get out work early, so i missed out on my 10-year hi skool reunion. It wasn't meant to be, it was held as a lunch bbq at coyote point.. and to further make it a fly-by-night operation, the day before i get this email stating 'we need to get cups, utinsels, plates, hot dogs. etc..' ??? The day before?? and to a hundred-plus (i'm assuming).. weaksauce!

Sunday: it begins, a few months late but none the less. All i hafta do is repeat it the next month, for my new years resolution will be completed. 200 yard slowfire Offhand 189-2x, 200 yard rapid sitting 97-2x, 300 yard rapid prone 99-2x and 600 yard slowfire prone 98-2x. Total of 483-8x!! Woohoo! To reach master class you need to shoot 470-484, the final class to reach is the high master class which is at 485-500. Next year, i think my resolution will be to go for the high master class. The weather was overcast, there was little wind going southwest 'cuz the .308 caliber shooter to my right was killing my eyes with all his gunsmoke. The drive was cool, and there weren't many shooters that day. I'm guessing theres a fatty rifle match somewhere else, Jim O'Connell wasn't there so thats a sign. There were about 14 shooters. kinda odd feeling.

There were a few differences between what i did 2 months ago (i didn't get to shoot last month) and this one. The main difference was that i was reading The rifle shooter by 11-time national high power champion, David Tubb. I got this book from fluffielady's parents for my birthday. The book is somewhat aligned to the gear that he's selling, but the shooting technique was what mattered to me. i mean if i *had* $3550 for his Tubb 2000 Bolt rifle (match sights are not included ($500+)), is nice but is it worth it? It's nice to have a Lancer Evolution, but if you can't use it to it's full potential, then is it worth it? Anyhow i digress. i did learn 3-things: 1) breath inbetween shots at the rapid fire (which is odd to do, for me it's like sharp short breaths), 2) finding your natural point of aim is quite critical and 3) don't wait till the target comes back up for you to write it down on your shooting diary, load up and then look through your scope and remember the marker position and point value to jot down *after* you shoot the next shot. This gives you more time to shoot and not to fiddle with scribbling and waiting. The previous months i was shooting in the 465-468 range, after tweaking very little things i can't belive i'm shooting like this. Hopefully this will be my 'standard' and not some fluke one month thing. 'cuz i'd be pissed! My main goal this year was to become just in the master class. let's hope it'll work out next month!

Speaking of breathing inbetween shots in the rapids, i sorta couldn't because the M1A shooter to my right started shooting really fast (1st time you have 60-seconds for 10 shots, and 2nd time 70-seconds for 10 shots). This guy was pumping it down the line, the cloud of smoke just floated over to me and it's killer. He was done with at least 20 seconds to go!

After getting high on shooting went home and fixed up with place with fluffielady for the Do-all Poker night / bbq at our place. It was pretty cool, i made some old school mixed drinks that i hadn't made in ages. The crew came over (with little baby chloe!) and we hung out till1 am (lordy!). The only thing that majorly sucked was my little airsoft homegrown video wouldn't be transfered into dvd format. I'm glad that sherwin figured that my version of nero was tweaked, and his worked on his lappy and burnt a dvd before it was too late. woot!

Today.. let's see.. We woke up at 10am. Floated around till noon and went to my coworkers bbq at San Jose, hung out there till 5pm.. and paul was having a little belated birthday party for chloe with his familia. It was then that Fluffielady realized that when we have birthdays it's not, let's say that your turning 30, that it's at the end of you being 30, and that your really turning 31.. When chloe turns one, next year she'd already been in earth for a year and that it's not the beginning of life. Hows that to make you feel old!

Speaking of which, it's 10:10pm.. i'm feeling quite tired from sitting in the sun at san jose.. Warm weather knocks me out.. nini

oh, one last thing, my webcam is back and going. I've borrowed Vick's webcam also and is gonna try that out too, one day.. Woot!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1.0 out of 10

My skii buddy Mr. Durkan wanted to see this 'box' that fluffielady's dad built for me to practice on for the winter season. I still haven't had the chance to try it out.
