Level Of Difficulty at Work: .2 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: Medium

Didn't have time to post yesterday.

Pumpkins!!
Went off to Half Moon Bay to hang out at the pumpkin farms. Back to Arata's Pumpkin farm. Neat place to go but i think we learned that 15$ each for those fatty pumpkins is kinda expensive especially since it's sold right at the farm. Fluffielady found some pumpkins for 3$ at Rite Aid today. Strolled around the cornfields (look at the pic) trucking pumpkins on a wheelbarrow.
We headed to another pumpkin patch that was hidden in the hills. This spot had a rubberband slingshot thing in which 5$ for 3 shots at a target about 100 yards away. The prize, of course is a free pumpkin.
Afterwards strolled around the city of Half Moon Bay with Pumpkin Ice cream in hand and walked about. Main Street was pretty empty compared to the festival days.

Oooo. Purdy..

Woohoo! This is my 666th posting!

Fluffielady was off with a cookie lee coworker to gather and forage goodies at Roseville, i got to chill. So today is mad computer fix day. What does that entail?
A hard drive Swap from my thinkpad x31 (20gb 4.2k rpm WinXp) to the Omnibook500 (40gb 5.4k rpm Win2k). The Omnibook didn't like win2k anymore and wouldn't starup when it loaded the networking functions. i did the drive swap, installed Xp into the 40gb for the x31, thats working well and faster. And i've decided to install the ubuntu distribution of Linux onto the 20gb. Linux isn't as easy as it seems. Back to the days of the command lines.

i also have my old desktop an Athlon XP 3000+ that doesn't seem to wanna startup. I thought the motherboard was fried, got a warranty replacement, that didn't do it. Then went the power supply, that didn't do it. Now i just got a new cheesy case, thats not doing it.. man this is getting weak! Somethings shorting in there somewhere.

DreamDream..

Driving Day!
Chillin at the Mazda Test Drive Day.

Getting ready for a race, with MazdaSpeed6's.

Fluffielady, My brother, his gf and i went over to the old Alameda Naval Yard for a test drive day. It was a bit different that what all of us thought it would be. Instead of test driving vehicle, it was more like a game. Our id cards have 3 boxes for scores. We saw 3 driving areas but didn't notice the 4th, which was the one all of us wanted. An actual test driving area WITH the cars that we wanted to test, RX-8 and the miata. There wasn't a map or anybody to describe the areas to visit. We decided to go to the farthest tent and find out that it's a race / autocross type event. It took and Hour and a Half to wait, till driving. They're explanation was that they had 12 cars and 7 of them died from toasted clutches, so 5 were left and those were getting hosed as well. Once in a while the swath of burnt clutch smell would pass by.
The car my brother and i drove sucked. I knew it already at the beginning third of the track. The clutch was hosed and the turbo was overheated. The time to beat was 44 seconds. My first drive was 49, my brother was 44.5 seconds. i then became the point man in giving my brother knowledge of the track to score more points.
By the time we were done, they closed that tent.
We headed to the second tent and this time the trick is to match the exact time posted, which was 27.000. This time we chose the Mazda 3, which felt alot lighter, handle and accelerate alot smoother. Our method to match the timing was the easiest way, a stopwatch. The technique is to jam all the way till the end and the cruise until the timing is right. My brother got it to 26.967! Woo, he jammed up towards the end while i was shouting 24..25..26..27! haha woo!

After that it was pretty much done, everything was closed, can't do the other 2 events. bah!

We couldn't drive the Miata, but Fluffielady and Jenny went and started posing on a show car.
i don't know about this track event. I guess everybody has high expectations since my brothers gone do the lexus events. The super long wait, and i think they weren't as prepared. And if i can actually test drive it, instead of thrashing the car. I never even had a chance to look at the radio and a/c controls.

One thing that was cool though, was my brother and i did all this driving while listening to FM 102.1 KDFC, Classical Music baby!

in other news, my Singapore buddy Jhin is bloggin it (sorta).

Dreamtime again:

i dreamt that i had this training course at night time where i had to learn how to operate a steam locomotive. Some of my coworkers were there, a bunch of first timers were there. And you also had to be able to shoot as well. And the training was held on both sides on top of this hill. There were four stations and you had to be marked off 'passed' to go do the others..

Lately i've been having alot of these dreams in which i had to train others on things i have no idea on..
wierd!

Some Pics from this weekend:

The view from our lovely room, anyone wanna breakfast slam? We were around the corner from the Madonna Inn, which used be all painted pink. Every room in the Madonna Inn is painted differently and some have themes. But from $160-380 a night it's kinda bling.

An example from the Madonna Inn, Room #144, The Barrel of Fun Room:

Kinda scary with the retro decor, and all the loud colors will wake you up quickstyle!

Like any college town SLO has their distinctive local highlights. At downtown SLO is a row of stores and shops and inbetween is this bubblegum alley of sorts. Some people have marked their mark from the 1970's, some still have a minty smell to it! Woo!

The Pier at Pismo Beach, we were handed a million dollar bill by some homeless looking dood that turned out to be spreading the word of the lord. It was a bit nippy and windy, so getting a steady shot with no flash was a challenge. So thank you handrail!

Byebye SLO. We headed for the Gilroy outlets and shopped about. I am dissapointed that cheap clothes are gone now. The cheapest slacks that i ever bought at an Outlet were 8$ Banana Republics from waaaay back. Now they range in the mid 20$'s. Back then they were 'irregular' now it seems that theres clothing meant for the outlets. The craziest i saw was 40% off 70$ slacks!! Might as well go to the main stores!

If you have 10 minutes to spare and would like to see the wierdest world record set for 'shortest time taken to open 10 bottles of beer with a bottle opener attached to a helicopter'. After watching a few i skipped off to another vid about tanks equipped with forcefields (well more like the Phalanx CIWS system on Navy ships.)

Skillz, thats all i gotta say. Magic Hat #9 Anyone?

Hung out around downtown S.L.O. and got some bike parts at Cambria Bicycle Outfitters. They just *happen* to have a fatty sale on everything in stock. Afterwards we hung out at the hot tub and got to Pismo Beach for some dindins.

i also had some wierd dream about being in this ultra large bed.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: .75 out of 10 (Talk about hurry up and wait! oi!)
NapTime During Lunch: Medium
Number of Sudoku's from the book finished: 62 / 100

Outside today..

So i guess it wasn't a blow-out:

Delilah did run over something and caused this gash. All the air leaked out and then the tire flattened to where the rim just cut the sidewall up. Can you say WEAKSauce! So it's not a warranty issue so no soup for me. Beh!

I'm trying another tagboard but i dunno if i like the ad on the bottom, and it's kinda freeform looking.

Tomorrow, fluffielady and i are venturing off to San Luis Obispo till monday. We're gonna be lounging for the weekend. Weee!

One last vid, a water powered car! Powered by the thrust of the water cannon!

oi i guess the tag-board got owned. So i'm in search of another.
i had 2 dreams but now i don't remember any of them. hah one involved stiletto shoes and glass floors!

Food for thought, i like orchids, who doesn't!:

If you have $10k to blow on your bathroom remodel project go visit Clark Sorensen

Spin Spin Sugah!

(New Kitty Cat pic! Awww..)
Today was a fun day. A coworker and i snapped caps at Chabot. Sighted in my 686 as well as the Para Ord for 50 yards. Brought the Chrono and clocked a gangload of shots. My coworker brought his bolt action 30-06, and the scope was way off. It took aobut 10 shots but i got it sighted in. Someone spun the elevation and drift knobs to their extremes.
The fun part was going back home. Traffic was light and i heard this sound as if there was paper stuck on a tire, it was an audible click. Not a thump or a rub. But when i got to the Bay bridge, which traffic was still light, out of nowhere the noise turned into a thumping, then i noticed my alignment was all sideways. I hear a thud like my front tire ran over something and got lodged into the rear then the car started swerving. I was on the left lane and Delilah was starting to head towards the wall, so i countersteered, and it went nowhere at first and then started outward a bit fast. At that point i thought my front passenger tire blew and i corrected steering to the left, as usual delilah pointed at the wall. One more correction and i spun out, 360 degrees, well more like 390, and went to a halt in the 2 left middle lanes. Luckily there was only 1 car remotely nearby and saw what my car was doing, and slowed down. i went all the way to the right lane and dragged my way towards a pull over right before the Treasure island tunnel. I get out of the car and look and it wasn't the front but the rear passenger tire that there were two gapping holes on the outside. I replaced the tire and this is what i get on the inside:

It's a clean cut around from the sidewall, and chunks of sidewall coming off, this is clearly not done by rubbing of anysorts. Actually the tread and corners are pretty new still, since i bought these tires april of this year. Replaced and went on home with a few people looking at me with disbelief. I didn't have a flashback moment, it was kinda like when i used to do jumps on my mountain bike and the first time you knew you weren't gonna make it, it was like that. The only thing i thought of was 'today, i'm not dying today.'
Got home and called up Tire Rack, they said that theres no recall on these tires and blow outs sound like manufacturer defect. I gotta bring it into a Bridgestone shop to have it inspected. Ok, thats it? Fluffielady isn't thrilled with the idea of Bridgestones on my car. I tell you, things just break around me.

In other news, Johnny Walker Gold Label is pretty tasty and smooth! More mellow than the green label.

Here we go again:
Slow Fire 200 Yard Standing: 185-3x (Last shot went sideways on me, doh!)
Rapid Fire 200 Yard Sitting: 93 (ick! Grouping was off to the right.)
Rapid Fire 300 Yard Prone: 99-5x
Slow Fire 600 Yard Prone: 98-2x
Total: 475-10x

Weather was excellent, clear blue sky with oddly enough a slow headwind.
I'm now feeling this jacket, on the standing position it really works in keeping you in position compared to my other jacket. Me likes! Now i gotta get at least a 470 next month. i feel it in me!

After Richmond, the traffic sucked going back. Got to Little Luccas (The Shack) and picked up a few hefties and brought it over to fluffielady's craft show in the Linda Mar area. It was more of a swap meet or a mass garage sale. There were 2 or so actual people (fluffielady's one of them) selling 'new' stuff. My brother was going back n forth about buying a printer / fax for 1$ from this lady who at the end sold every item for a dolla! a dolla, a dolla! Fluffielady did ok. If you wanted a replacement satillite dish for the dish network someone was selling it for 5$! The best guy was one dood who resold garage sale items. A lady comes by asking how much a certain item is, he says 10$ she says no fair! she sold it to him for 8$! Silly people.

Todays Dream (man!):
I was hired to make muni buses run more efficient.
That is whacked on it's own. I haven't ridden the Muni since me n Capt'n D took the bus to get to the Bay to Breakers. And i remember saying 'man i haven't ridden this thing in 6-7 years' And someone in the bus replyed 'you haven't missed much!' Which was a true statement.
Good Times, Good Times..

Dreamtime some more:
i remember 2 today:
1) I was doing a fluid change on Delilah, so i went to the store and needed oil or antifreeze or something ( i forgot). Well the guy tells me that it's too expensive, so they sell 'used' stuff thats 'value priced'. There were different brands of used oil, each in it's own colored bottle.
It seems that i'm seeing tons of colors in my dreams.
2) i'm in someones silver Mercedes, and we're coming back from a party or something. Theres a girl driving (i dunno who, i'm in the backseat) and shes never driven in S.F. before. So we go uphill over one of the many crests of the streets of San Francisco and all of a sudden shes driving backwards as we're going downhill the other side of the crest. Her bf tells her it's ok, and i tell her that shes doing pretty good. The car crosses an intersection and i tell her to spin the wheel. She does and the car does an almost smooth 180 degree spin and makes it.

Dreamtime:
Today i dreamt that Fluffielady and I were walking around the City College Campus and we were asked to visit a class. It was a sorta Wine-Making class and there were some wines to taste that the class made. Well for some unknown reason instead of wine i get the 'soda' making class. I tasted a multi-colored thing. It was green then blue, then gold colored soda. Tasted like crap. And the second drink was this orangy drink but i could already see that it's thick with sugar, which it tasted how it looked. Then i told them that i would like to go to soda making class so that i can make a coke but with 1/2 or 1/3 the sugar but yet maintain most of it's flavor.
Then i wake up. Man these dreams are getting wierd.

Extreme Scrabble Action!
Todays a really lazy day, So lazy that even ESPN doesn't know what to show. They did show the National Scrabble Championships. Sweet! The two players, one whos job is to produce and proofread standardized tests, the other writes legal papers and notices. To make words out of ALL their tiles is whacked! Especially with some crazy words that they got going. That was the apex of my day.
