Woke up to the gentle calls of the Loons thats out in the lake. And off we go to another 2 hr drive to the Minniapolis / St. Paul International airport. We flew on Frontier airlines, we thought it was some fly-by-night type deal. Their motto is 'we're a whole different animal' and to go with this theme, the planes tailsection is painted a different animal. Each animal has a name inside the plane, kinda neat. Each seat has a LCD television but to watch tv it's 5$, movies it's 8$. Also this low-budget airlines hub around Denver. So theres no direct connects.

Ahh yea it's good to be home.

My buddy Mr. 10-8 has this book at his cabin about Outhouses, a history and evolution. It also showed whacky designed outhouses as well.

I like this one because 1) It's vented, and 2) Can you say Lean wit it, Rock wit it! (Rap song by Dem Franchize Boyz)

It's kinda peaceful out here. Not much noise, the lake is 15 feet away, the boat is ready to rock n roll. And our neighbor is 50 yards away. It's alright, he's not there (yet) and we use his dock to go fishing. It's been 15 years or so since i casted. So with my xmas present of a few years back i started casting as if it was 15 years ago.

Only hard part was that it was windy and eventually started to rain. The only fish we did catch were itty bitty baby bluegills, sunfish, saw a baby bass let go of fluffieladys line. Sometimes i swear it's the same dumb fish!

oh, i forgot to mention 2 things. The well water at Illinois is high in Sulfur, it gives off that rotten-egg smell. and at Wisconsin it's high in Iron, theres lots of rust rings on things. Fluffielady tells me not to clean my clothes in the stuff, it tints everything orangy-red!
The other thing was that eventually i begged enough to get sent to the country club near by to swim and shower. More importantly to shower! mwahhaha! It's so much better when things are fresh n clean!

The Cabin isn't as small as i thought it was. It can fit 5 people inside with all the stuff in it. So just think of it as Roughing it out camping. Theres no electricity and the water is pumped by hand. It's a *tad* different than Mr 10-8's Cabin in the Sierras. Theres actual beavers across the lake!

Pump it!

This huge fireplace fits 4-foot wide logs! Nice to keep things toasty inside!

Man i dunno how it's gonna be without a shower!

Reached Jessica n Bobs place in the very vast but quite beautiful University of Wisconsin : Madison. around 8am. i think i only had 2 hours of sleep on the road up. We hang out and i 'accidentally' pass out on their huge futon in the living room. Woke up around 11am. Played around with little James and off we went to the next stop. The Ho-Chunk Indian Casino for their grand buffet, we didn't gamble, so we didn't lost a ho-chunk of money, nor did we gain a ho-chunk either. *neak* The place is huge, but the best thing is, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the dining room is non-smoking only! woo!

Off to the legendary Wisconsin Dells, an Amusment park-town. Known for their water falls, rapids and water parks. Fluffielady has always wanted to go there but has never gotten the chance, it was always 'overlooked'. We just drove by to check out the stuff they got there. It's like a Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Fishermans Wharf combined with a bunch of waterslide parks and those Military Duck Vehicle Tours.

After that drive-by, another 5 hours to Spooner, Wisconsin.
The drive up is scenic, with happy cows munching on grass and grain silos next to red barns. The ocassional CHEESE sign sticks high above the treeline at some exits to lure the tourists for the goody orangy-yellow stuff.. Mmmm we didn't get to visit the cheese shops, which is ok, what are we gonna do with all this cheese?

Hanging around in Downtown Spooner, Wisconsin.

We eat at Tony's Pizza and say goodbye to civilization.. *scary*
Another 20-minutes or so we're there!!

Went shopping around the little towns near by. From Sumner, Il to Bridgeport to Vincennes, Indiana. We roamed and seeked out resale shops ?! I must say though, the last one we went to had a whole lotta snoopy collectable stuff! But for me all i bought was 2 glasses for sipping whiskey to bring to the cabin. Which we started heading out at 10pm!!! a 7.5hr drive to Madison Wisconsin to meet up with our college friend Jessica, Bob and their 1 year old, James. Bloddy heck, 7.5 hr drive?!?!! Talk about red-eye..

View from the Front Yard. Same as last time..

Didn't do anything. the 2 kids started school. So we lounged around, hung out with the great-aunt. Shes turning 96 and living alone in her farmhouse. Pretty cool i'd say.

(i was supposed to have posted this on the 20th but that was my last connection to the net! Posted on the 26th)

Samantha and Ben. Woot!

Random Cat our cousins-in-law picked up beside the church where the wedding was held.

So is it odd that the kids at our place (4-year old Colton and 6-year old Savannah) sleep alot later than us? We get back from the wedding at 1am, the two kids run off to watch a movie and have pizza!?

Today was a lazy day. we're trying to finalize our plans here. Originally we were gonna leave monday midnight (yep, on a multi-hour trek to Wisconsin), now we might bust it tuesday night. Today we took a walk to the park. It's kinda odd to be walking in the middle of the loose gravel road with cornfields to the right and soy to the left.
For that classic feel..

Other than that we're having a Pizza party at another cousin-in-laws place. It's another on the list of things to eat from Fluffielady: Bobes Pizza. Anyhow my cousin-in-law just bought it new n had it all fixed up. Pretty sweet for 85k!

(Posted Aug 20, Still downloading mp3 player drivers at 947bytes/sec!%#@!)

Woke up a bit late, it was tiring yesterday. We're housed at the basement and it's a bit noisy down there. Need ear plugs, which means Wal-mart time! Took a look outside and it's pretty humid, 80-degrees with a chunk of humidity. Our Uncle/Aunt-in-law's place is pretty much the same, except the cornfield to the right of the house is busting Soybeans this year, and i hear it's a pretty good year!

So fluffielady has this 'list' of things to eat that she HAS to have. Today's is Ham Salad. My grandpa used to make this macaroni salad with ham n peas, so thats what i thought it was. This one's a lil different, it's vintage ham with relish, balogne, and sometimes some food coloring. It looks pink, sorta like a ham pate, but it tastes like what a ham salad would be like. It's in the area of chicken salad or tuna salad, just with ham, and it's pink. Fluffielady was also looking for cheese salad (!?) and Pickleloaf meat, but the store didn't have any.

Good thing both the Church and the Reception hall are air con'd. I brought out my Ebay Tuxedo and had a grand ol time. The church was near by but the reception was in a town called Robinson. They're known for 1)Prison, 2)Oil refinery, and 3)Heath Bar Factory! The reception hall was next to the police station which is across the street from the county jail. Cool! Partied till about midnight and got home around 1am. There was this Frail little kitty outside the church and lo-n-behold, my uncle-in-law picked it up at the church. So cute!

Transition Time..
Silly Super shuttle, we call to make an appointment for our 6:15am flight. They tell us well you can pick a certain time where we pick you up, but for a guaranteed pickup, it'll be 3:30am.. Fine, 3:30am rolls by and a taxi awaits us. We get to SFO at 3:50am, nobodys around. But at 4:30, people are all lined up. Things were easy going, since we're one of the first flights the wait at security wasn't much at all.
We land at Denver early, early enough where we can run and grab some 7$ pizzahut stuff and gobble it down for the next flight to Indianopolis (home of NASCAR!!!). We reach Indy, and i went to the bathroom to do my #2. Well halfway through, i hear Police radios and nothing else. It seems that someone left a suspicious package in the garbage can and the bathroom got evacucated except for me. Now my in-laws are touting that i really do drop bombs at the loo!
3-hr drive into Sumner, IL and straight into a wedding practice / practice dindins. It's kinda wierd to walk into things where you don't know half the people and your also trying to figure out your cousin-in-laws.
Whelp my buddy Ben, who taught me how to drive a tractor is getting married tommorrow. May the madness begin!

Lesson of the day from the judge: If you start fights, please don't be high. Peoples Kung-Fu tends to be weak when under the influence, which is not advantageous for you.

Whelp tommorrows we're going to be heading out to the farm.

I wonder how my Pet, Mr. T-Bone is doing. It's been about 3 years so i think he's a goner already. =( *boo* Time for another!
We'll be back late on the 26th! Hopefully i should be able to post something!

ToAsTy's list of greatest inventions:
1)The Rubberband
2)Milk from cows (think of the brave 1st guy to suck on a cow)
3)The paperclip
4)The bicycle (human powered mobility)
5)The Electronic and Internet age (of course)

But this is not one of them:

If i had one of these, my brother n i would most likely try: 1)off-roading, (like evan did with the Razor Kick Scooter), 2)Going down the steepest streets (i.e. Twisty Lombard and the hills around it), and lastly try jumping it off berms / ramps / jumps. I sense a MTV jackass video with this one!

Forgot to mention last thursday. i was chillin at the gate watching the pplz walk through the metal detectors n what not and this lawyer pair comes in. The younger of them was being slightly perturbed that he has to take off his belt. i'd say the metal detector picks up about 90% of belts on people. My coworker explains to the younger dood about the typical reasons of finding items, the dangers n all that. Well the guy makes some gestures and then i noticed that he is non other than Dale Major following the footsteps of his father. He's lost some weight, other than that he seems the usual.
Talk about small world!

i'm trying to piece up some duty gear but it seems that nobody online sells most of the pieces that i want. i guess i can order from 4 different places, ugh i dunno. But yes, i will spend *some* of my uniform allowance.. Ooo!!

i found this java webpage which is kinda cool. It shows all the planes in a certain airports range. It seems to be hooked up to certain airports though, but San Jose International is close enough, you can zoom out to a 80 mile range! Cooler yet, you can click on the planes and it'll show at least altitude and model plane! Plane madness! It's like looking at the dots!

Noooo! My Bedspace has been invaded! Fluffielady is back!

I've found this deal for a 15" NEC LCD Monitor with no stand. It does include wall mounting brackets though, and thats how they explain their cheap pricing, no stand! I went to resellerratings.com but couldn't find anything about them. I did go to their ebay account and it does look like they've got a pretty high rating (8400+), yet they aren't selling the 15" for 50$ there.. how odd.
I still like my 70 Pound Dell P1110 21" (~$75 on craigslist!). It still rules for my Counter-Strike Action!
Updated my round count on my Match AR. And it's passed the 1k mark! It's 1/5th done!( Oh no!)

Travis Pastrana is my Hero.
This 22 year old x-games motocross master has won 7 or 8 x-games titles, broken 20+ bones, and is now playing around with a Subaru in Rally Racing! His stunts and tricks are effortless to him, making it a whole lot easier than what it looks. This years X-games he busted the first double backflip on a motocross bike!

I like how the brain has this emergency system where when something sketchy is coming your way it tries to prevent you from going your all. And all these x-gamers just bypass this mental and sometimes physical (been there, done that) hesitation that can either make it, or break it. It really is mind over matter.
In Bonus Pastrana news, he also won Gold in a new event for the x-games, a rally race. The first few minutes show a jump and a very nice pendulum hairpin turn. The near the end World Rally Racer Champ Collin McRae barrel rolls his car landing tires down and making it! Sweet!

In more mundane news, Saturday i ordered some Chinese foods to go and BOTH fortune cookies states:

Dood..
As if i don't get razzed enough for being San Franciscian!

Pancakes are getting fluffier!

Todays weather and what nots were pretty much the same compared to yesterday at Richmond. Clear Blue Sky, Zero Wind, Bright Sunny warm day, and today there were only a handful of shooters, 14, i think. Everybody else this weekend was doing the REAL stuff at Camp Perry, Ohio. It's the olympics of High Power shooting, all the grand masters, all the toys and gizmos, everything involving this sport will be massed there for the entire week. One day i might shoot over there.

Pics i stole online! haha. I am amazed to see what kinda madness it is shooting at the correct point! I *think* this is the 300 yard line.

Before we shot i asked if today could be my 'match' score and yesterday be 'practice' of course, i got shot down, oh well, i tried.
Todays (Practice)
200 Yard Slow Offhand: 183-2x
200 Yard Rapid Sitting: 96-1x
300 Yard Rapid Prone: 99-3x
600 Yard Slow Prone: 94-2x
Total: 472-8x (master score!)

After popping caps i met up with my coworkers and Capt'n D at the IPSC (SpeedBapBaping) range. They're all bugging me to join them in this new sport. Oi! As with new sports that usually equals $$. I guess i can go with what i got, but i still need a few trinkets to start the bapbaping. Ugh 200-300 rounds a match. Now they want some handmade bullets for their bapbaping as well. Man..

I guess i haven't made pancakes in a while...

Today's a pretty good day. The sky was blue, the haze smothered a bit of the view of the hamlet of Sausalito from the eastshore highway. Got to Richmond with 3 openings to spare.
200 Yard Offhand: 186-2x
200 Yard Rapid Sitting: 92 (ick!)
300 Yard Rapid Prone: 95 (my sighters were to the right, and unfortunately the group landed to the left, oi!)
600 Yard Slow Prone: 93-1x (wt?!)
Total: 466-3x (4 bloody points again!)

It's been 2 months since i picked up Debbie (The rifle is in this case with the Name Debbie). My offhand was decent, but my rapids suck now. i can't seem to get a good comfy position anymore.
It's like cooking pancakes, for me theres a technique to cooking fluffy pancakes. And if i haven't made them in a while, well it's all about practice. And maybe it is time to order a *real* shooting coat (400$?!). My old school JROTC jacket ain't handling it anymore. I talked to some of the peoples at the range and they highly recommend another coat after staring at what i got. It sucks that some of the shooting sports is not geared towards the shooter, but instead geared towards the gear, which equals $$$.
Hmmz, should i shoot again tommorrow. Yeah, i think i will, too bad it won't count.

Fluffielady just survived the last of her wisdom teeth being yanked out at Bakersfield. Poor fluffielady, shes on vicodins for a little bit. She says the right side is fine, the left isn't. =
Tech dada:
Last posting was about laptops. i LOVE the ultra-portables, carry it one hand, type with the other easily. The thinner and lighter the better. On the other end of the spectrum Acer just released a 20.1" Tank of a laptop, weighing in at 17.2 Pounds! At least it has antenna-in jack, so that you can actually watch TV.

Speaking of TV's heres a 46" (4:3) transparant film that can be applied to glass. It has special goodies in it that reflects video from a projector. The film also has sound with an embeded film material from SoundVu. The goodstuff cometh!

I own one of the ubiquitous blue nalgene bottles. I shoulda purchased a different color, but at the time it was all pastels, so i went with the standard blue. Well going camping and roaming the worksite, it seems everybody has one. So in order to make mine 'different' i labelled it the 'hyphy juice' from that silly rap song. Well they too exist along with the pimpjuice:
