Level Of Difficulty at Work: .25 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Long (By accident)

Yesterday, fluffielady and i roamed the north beach area. We normally go over there when people come visit, we do the tourist thing. But yesterday was one of those rare inbetween sunny days that we decided to float about. Fluffielady wanted to shop, but to shop in fishermans wharf isn't practical, unless you really want SF shirts, hats and alcatraz crap. We did get a loaf bread at the newly redone Boudins factory / meuseum (?!) which charges 3$ for a tour of bread.
After we went to Coit tower to seek out the mythical Parrots of Telegraph hill. The only negative is of course parking, but once we got a spot we roamed around and found a staircase that headed to Julius' Castle (never ate there). It was walking towards the castle that you heard the chirping and rustling, after reaching halfway down the steep staircase that you see the redheaded green parrots. There was about a dozen of them picking on a fruit tree. It was funny to see one parrot pick a good sized fruit, take a bite and down the fruit went to the ground. There was a group of 8-10 people there watching as well. We hung out for about 15 minutes and something scared them and they all took flight in one big mass of green fluttering amongst the clear blue sky, chirping as they go. Kinda neat, those silly birds.

Time to shift subjects. Back in the day when i was mountain biking like a savage, i told myself if i'd ever break my legs, i'd do downhill wheelchairing (now called a fourcross), which was the extreme thing to do. Luckily i never ate it hard much.

But this looks like fun as well:

Whelp, took that leap of faith and got the Dish Network installed. It's pretty cool so far, scary that it took so long to enter HD-land. Todays Heavy fog and moderate wind isn't ruffling the signal at all. i did see the digital squares once, but it was for 2 seconds and that was it. Neatest thing was the ability to pause and rewind live TV. Included is the ViP622 3-line DVR, 200hrs of SD recording, 30hrs of HD. Now i have GamePlayHD, yep starcraft, CS, and WoW tournaments on HD!! And FINALLY i now have the Speed Channel! Woot!

We also reconfigured the living room a little. But Fluffielady wants to move everything everywhere, i dunno about that. Not only is it gonna take some work moving the fish tank but i'd hafta go under the house again to rewire the surround sound. I dunno if i'm down with that. Flip everything around? oi!

Went to Chabot and tried to tune somethings. I unmounted the harris bipod on my Contender and readjusted the scope for that. 20 clicks up, 10 clicks left. I tried shooting some 68grainers off the contender and i never knew what would happen with a slow-twist barrel. It didn't even hit paper, i thought my scope was mounted wrongly until i tried some 55gr's and those worked.
I also tried to adjust this adjustable gas plug on the Garand but ran out of ammo doing so. A coworker of mine came along and shot a bit.

Anyhow Sony comes with the best of tech goodies:

The 2.5-inch prototype display supports 16.8 million colors at a 120 x 160 pixel resolution, is 0.3 mm thick and weighs 1.5 grams. Nice! I'm still waiting for regular OLED displays to be out like this 11" thats coming soon sometime this year:

Can you say Contrast Ratio: 1,000,000:1 while being 3mm thick?

I felt the need to head out to Richmond, it's IPSC time!

I've volleyed about 130 rounds on this sunny hot day. Slapped on the SPF45 and went to town. It's been a while since i've snapped some caps. I did so-so, some of the stages were pretty hard up there alot of distance shots onto 4" and 5" plates. No Alpha-Mike-No-Shoots this time! , but there were a few misses, stupid fortified targets! There were tons of people there today, 65+ ppl, so we weren't done till 2:30pm! I dunno if i'll go next month, i've gotta see how i feel. Good thing i have the gear, sometimes i feel like running and gunning and sometimes not. What i need is a way to use my bullet camera, but toting that big old video camera sux. I use this widget and get some vids up.
Got home, went to Target for some q-tips and wd-40 but there weren't any. It was slammed with people as well! Man..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: .75 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Long

Yep another dream: This one was hard to remember and vague unlike yesterdays. All i remember this time was playing chess against someone. Thats all i remembered.
It seems that this volley of dreaming is a set of transitions. From Watching the news, to telling the news. From watching kids play chess to actually playing chess. Am i supposed to tell people something? Maybe theres a strategy that i'm supposed to inform people of. Maybe it's just i haven't watched TV or played chess in a while.

Yngwie malmsteen would be proud of all these youngsters jamming on their electric guitars to classical music.

More dreams:

i had another happy dream and it's quite a lengthy one. This time it was the crew and myself and we were hanging out near my parents house. We were strolling around near my old middle school in S.F. nearby a middle school and was invited to a field trip or a festival type thing in berkeley. We take the invite and notice that theres TONS of kids walking to the bus stops. I figure that since theres so many kids heading to the buses the only real way to get to the BART station was to just walk there down hearst ave all the way to the Glen Park station. Now we have this group of kids walking with us on quite a walk.
Now we're near UC Berkeley on Bancroft way walking up the hill. We get to this park, which doesn't exist in real life, and it's this huge festival with events, games, etc. Our group gets invited to play human chess on this large field where other groups of kids were playing as well. Somehow i got confused with chinese chess in which theres an additional piece called the cannon. So i become the cannon piece by simulating the shuck-shack of a shotgun. It was then that i realized, 1) how do we know what kid is what piece? 2) who controls movement of the pieces and 3) what if all the kids just start moving out of order. And of course kids were moving every which way and since i was the cannon piece, i was taking kids out since they were walking at me. So i realized that it was the wrong chess style(oops!) and explain myself and walked off the chessboard.
After playing chess i started walking up the hill, there was a chubby italian kid who followed. He shouted at me and then kicked a ball made out of grass. I saw the ball coming and kicked it back, it went up into the air and landed on the kids head. Right when it landed the ball transformed into different things: a hat, a wig, a beard. And everytime it changed the kid would impersonate whatever the polymorphic grass did. He was having fun with it and so was i.
Then i woke up. Man..

More dreams:

Today i had multiple dream sequences some quite vivid. But most have some sorta common theme. 1)i'm watching either kron4 or nbc newscasts, in which one dream i was wondering why i'm dreaming of the news in the first place. 2)i'm reporting the news, which is kinda wierd. What is going on??

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 1 out of 10 (OOoo!)
NapTime During Lunch: None

Todays Dream:
i was teaching a class in which i was telling a group of people, i dunno if they were kids or not, about the old school stories of riding on the 480 Freeway. About how it was neat to be on the top part, and that the freeway blocked the view of the bay and the ferry building. How fun was that..

Time to order my moto tires.. wee!

Oh ya lawmakers start the scribbling, another federal gun law, a few notches worse than the brady bill has been written up. Oi.

Woot, Changed the Oil on da moto, which reached 28028 miles. It also looks like the tires should be changed soon, 12000 miles on motorcycle tires are pretty good. I wonder whats the latest, originally it was the Dunlop D207, which is now the D208, but thats now outdone by the Metzler M1 which now has a new version called the M3, and that was outdone by the Pirelli Diablo, which is what i've got going on. Tire (or tyre) tech seems to be flying. The motorcycle stand that i got on ebay barely fits.
Oi, after briefly (45min later) visiting gixxer.com i've found out that cyclegear.com has a fatty pre-order sale of Diablos for 160$ Front AND rear! Thats mad!! Ahh crap should i go in for a pair? A set runs usually around 250$ Now i must ponder the meaning of life.

Lets see what else.. Got a haircut, scary.
Got some gear to 'try' to paint over our rusting flagpole. This may become a youtube moment!

Looks like a layer of fog but it's glassy smoothness of a windless pacific ocean!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: .25 out of 10
NapTime During Lunch: Medium

Today i had a dream about being an Astronaut. Maybe it was from watching the Methane Rocket Video a bit too much.

Reloaded some .38's now it's to the .223s and i'm done for a while.
I'm starting to listen to podcasts instead of the usual online techno moozak when i reload. I found one about history and ramblings of San Francisco called SparkleTack.com. One of the stories involved some dood who made himself wealthy but lost all his money on a speculative move. He comes back and declares himself Emperor Norton of San Francisco. The odd part was either people played along or was forced to play along and the dood had his way around town. Free meals, he printed his own money that stores accepted, he wrote his own laws and conversed with kings and queens of the world.
One rule deemed a heavy misdeameanor was a 25$ fine if the word Frisco was used.

Sunny and hot hot today at the Range.
A bright and clear blue sky. Easy drive to n fro, with slight traffic coming back. Thanks destroyed 580 East!

200 Yard Slow Offhand: 187-3x
200 Yard Rapid Sitting: 95
300 Yard Rapid Prone: 96-2x
600 Yard Slow Prone: 96-3x With One Silly Half Loaded Round resulting in a 6.
Total: 474-8x

i didn't do all that good. i need to put more time into my rapids, i find it funny that i used to do better at the rapids then the other 2, and now it's gone the other way. One round in the Slow prone went 'bum-p' instead of 'bang'. It musta been halfloaded since it did reach the target, as a 4-o'clock 6, ick. There weren't that many people today, about 13 shooting, all the others are at Coalinga. From what i hear from some who returned, Coalinga was horrid with 25-35mph crosswinds! Thats the only thing i don't get much at Richmond, theres very low wind happening and i need more experience in gaging and feeling for the wind. i dunno if i'll ever enter in a Coalinga match. 3-hour drive, and it usually starts around 7 or 8am. Heck going to Sacramento for one of these state matches is hell already.

Got home, twiddled with the sound system in Delilah, i think the rear left speaker is toast, and i dunno if i can find a replacement one.
Made some .40s for duty weapons, now i've got 1 more box of .38 and 1 box of .223 and i'm all loaded up. For now..

I just can't believe that it's 71.6 degrees right now at 9pm. Whats going on??!!

Video Of the Day is:
Nasa's New Methane Refuelable Rocket. Turn up your speakers for this one!

Woot Happy Birthday goes to my brother!! He's been crazy busy studying for the CFA exam level 1, which is gonna happen in a month. StudyMadness!

As always his birthday is also Cinco De Mayo, which i find funny. Nowadays it's known as alot of drinking celebrating etc. But Cinco De Mayo is a celebration of the first battle of Mexico vs. France in 1862. Sure the Mexicans won the battle but the war was won by the french in 1863.
I'd like celebrations on Gettysburg, Dropping the A bomb on Both days they were dropped, Alamo, etc. Things aren't fair are they?

Anybody wanna buy nothing?

6$ for nothing, and since it's from the UK, international shipping would be even more money for nothing!
