NapTime During Lunch: Medium

Two days worth of work crammed into one. Madness.

i forgot to scribble about 2 days back. It has finally happened, i scraped the footpeg of my moto doing a right turn. Theres a little metal spike kinda like a metal feeler, well it got snapped off. I still have about 1/4" of tire edge to reach but still thats pretty good for street usage. It felt good too, right when i start hearing the scraping i straightened up a tiny bit but it wasn't wobbly or anything. I just remember that when in such turns, keep the throttle going until the apex. I thought i was going to scrape my knee on the long left curve at the highway 35 exit. But since it has 2 'bumpy' sections that aren't very attractive for extreme leans. I scraped this peg doing the right yield on Hickey. Tight!

Lets see, Saturday: Washer dryer got stacked. Headed to what we thought was a step-team competition, was a black college expo. When we arrived the show began, therefore all the college info people left. It was a sorta hip-hop, r&b show with the step stuff at the end. Lets just say that we stuck out like no other.

Sunday, got a haircut (finally).
We happen to see Sorority Boys on TV and watched a few fluffielady's scenes. In the midst of watching Fluffielady tells me that we are all a part of the six degrees of Kevin Bacon. It is where within 6 steps someone is related to Kevin Bacon somehow. This is how our six degrees looks like: i am married to Fluffielady, who worked with Michael Rosenbaum (of smallville fame) who was in Bringing Down the House (2003) with Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah was in Beauty Shop (2005) with Kevin Bacon.
Trippy huh?

i just made my first run of .38specials. Hopefully i get lil bang, not big boom!

i'm just slightly sore, and it's always my shoulders when i board. How odd.

Dreamtime: I dreamt that Roz, me, some others had some contest to see who can play Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor the best on piano. i think the best is Vanessa Mae on violin, but thats just me.

Another dream i had 2 days ago but forgot till now was a fun dream (!?), if thats possible, it'll be my first fun dream. I dreamt that somehow it's this giant city event and we were all on a hilly grassy park. There were a good sized amount of people just hanging out, then the games began. It was like playing tag but in order to tag someone you had to point your fingers at the person as if it was a gun say 'pow pow, bang bang, budda budda (like in Punisher Comic books)' and then chase them around. it was kinda neat, kinda odd, yet everybody there was having fun, giggling and laughing. Adults acting like children, how odd is that?

Today my stacking kit comes for the washer and dryer. Afterwards Fluffielady has some dance team event in Alameda. funfun!

Sorry for the bad pic. I shoulda brought the digi-cam and the helmet cam.

Weather Conditions at Homewood: 2/3 Patchy but Fluffy Clouded Blue Sky, Green Trees (Some dusted with snow), Snow All Over (Mostly), Ambiant temp: 40 degrees, but it was sunny, it felt pretty warm actually ..
Snow at Homewood: Good sugary snow, some parts still have exposed rock n bush branches popping out!

Bust out the Cold weather gear and the Palmer, it's time to hit da slopes. An old coworker, Mr. Huntoon picked me up and off we went to Homewood. I like homewood alot, it's a little bigger than Donner Ski Ranch. But it's mainly for Intermediate / advanced riders. And the best part is the crazy view of the WHOLE lake tahoe from the top. It's absolutely beautiful when your on the topmost run, and when you cut around this treeline all you see is beautiful blue lake. A Gondola ticket at Heavenly (across the pond, heh) no lift, nada is 30$. Mon-Thurs at Homewood lift ticket 37$. Fri-Sun = 45$. Eat at Rosies Cafe and get tickets for 40$. Works for us! We get there and we were the first row of cars against the ski lift. At the end of the day the lot was about half full (half empty?)
Being that it's the first ride of the day, normally it kicks our ass. And about 2:30pm that began to take effect. We rode some simple runs. One run is called the Lombard Street, and it's a bunch of switchback zigzags. It's the only 'easiest way down' to the lodge. Anyhow the last time we took the run a guy must have either 1)gone waaaay too fast at a switchback and slammed into a tree, off the path or 2)gone waaay too fast and slid n slipped onto such tree. Skii patrol came and we thought it was bad when the Ambulance arrived, what got worse was when the lifeline helicopter arrived when we were changing. I hope that guys gonna be alright.
Ate dindins at Ikeda's. Picked up some Lemonade, 1$ a bottle of this Santa Cruz Organic stuff, which sells at Albertsons / Safeway for $4.50. Got home about 7:30pm.
I think i'm going to feel it tommorrow.. The burn! Feel the burn!

Technews:

The navy has invented a 8-megajoule rail gun. It's an electromagnetically accelerated bullet. All gunpowder free! They're trying to build 16 and 32-megajoule versions that may come online at 2020 Doing as much damage as a Tomahawk missle. So instead of a million dollar tomahawk, it's a 10,000$ zap. Only downside is that the railgun can't be used as much, due to the fact that it does use lots of electricity.

Who said videogames make u lazy n fat? This dood's using his Nintendo Wii to lost 9pounds in 6 weeks! With nothing more than 30min a day of Nintendo Sports. He's got the whole bodyfat loss, pics, all that on that site.

If you wanted to know when the next Syzygy (an alignment of 3 celestial bodies, duh!) is for $23k this is the watch to get! Christiaan van der Klaauw's Planetarium 2000. On the top right click on the little icon and select High Speed. Tight!

Tomorrow i'm going to therapy. Nothing a little mountain air can't cure! Mwahha!

Update: it seems that my Razer mouse is good for a replacement! woohoo! Lets see if it all goes well. The thing is about a year and a few months old. First optical mouse i ever handled to have died.

Before we begin, lets take a moment of silence to honor Momofuku Ando. Everybody knows of his famous creation. He is the inventor of instant noodles, founded Nissin Foods in 1948 due to food shortages after the World War. In 1958 came the chicken ramen, and at 1971 the great 'Cup Noodle' was invented. He passed away at the age of 96. Mr. Momofuku Ando is a Hero to all College kids around the world. My $.10 / pack goes to u.

Weee! Today's Day off event: Research day at Chabot

i had intended to do .223 research on both my Service Rifle AR-15 and my Thompson Contender. But time would only allow me to go for it on the AR.
I achieved several good groups, but out of every 5 shot group, at least 1 shot would be out there. Using my Creedmoor shooting jacket and Anshutz glove, both assisted in reducing recoil bounce. These are my closest at 100 yards:

That group seems good with Winchester Small Rifle Primers. 2/3rd's of an inch(minus the one wacky shot).

This ones with Federal Gold Medal Match Primers, 3/4's of an inch (minus the one wacky shot):

My brother came along n shot up some other rifles that i brought. A coworker and his brother came to check out the mythical (in california) ar-15. Oooo!

The Mouse runs pretty good on battlefield 2. i played with some of the weights and decided to use 4 4.7's placed on the outer boundries of the cartridge (the orange thing in the pic, which goes to the orange slot). i suppose you could weight it all to one side or another. But i'm not gonna try that crap. Too many weights and the mouse feels sluggish, use no weights and it feels empty and too light.
I like the 'back' button on the thing, i guess i coulda had something like that on the razer but never though about having it set that way. Pretty useful on websites, and file folders. And the right-left tilt on the wheel is a nifty gimmick too, but it doesn't work on everything.
is it time to pwn sum foolz?

Stupid Mouse. My ultra pro super gamer killer mouse, the Razer Copperhead has gone zoink. i can click but it no move. So i casually look at logitech to see whats their latest n greatest. I prefer corded mice so it came out to the G5. The specs seem the same as the copperhead, since the G5 came after the Copperhead. The only 'new' thing about it, is the ability to add weight to the mouse. So i saw a deal thats about to expire tonight, from Bestbuy on sale for 35$ - 12% for rewardzone pplz. It's pretty much like the Razer, except it's cheaper. I'll see how it does on BF2. Speaking of which, i should put up my BF2 score again.

Lets see what else did we do today:
-We did an inventory of fluffieladys business items.
-Took down the christmas decor.
-Cleaned a bit
-Affixed the second backyard light that will shine upon the bbq / sliding door area.

Woot Post #700!

i didn't have time to put the pics up from the electrician.

The original socket was on the right where the piping (conduit in electician terms) began.
Now all we gotta wait for is the stacking kit that bestbuy ran out of stock and with our delaying, it'll be all good.

Let there be light!

Now we can light up the night with these silly halogen suckers.

Lets see, yesterday i had an electrician come in and move and update a 220volt socket that the drying machine was connected to. It was moved to the back wall where the drain and plug was at. Pretty cool.. next i had one of those switches that did nothing. I assumed it turned on a set of lights at the backyard but thought that just the lights were messed up. Well it comes out that the lights weren't even connected correctly! Now i have lights in the backyard! Woohoo! Just one 500 watt halogen lights up the whole backyard! i think i'll hafta tone it down a bit, that thing is lit!

Tonight we hung out with our buddy UE, she had a little get together and it was an early birthday thing. Typical sillyness after dindins where i dunno why but somehow there was 3 dozen doughnuts brought. It was meant for us to 'creatively create a doughnut masterpiece.' Or make your own doughnut cake! Fluffielady and i created a decorated hut, while another created a wedding cake complete with doughtnut bride and groom. It was cool! Happy Birthday UE!

During the last high power, i met up with a old shooting buddy and he's inviting me to the SFPD, FBI Sniper match sometime in feburary. The best setup is a Bolt Rifle with scope, bipod, rear bag and a light trigger. The past years i've used my Thompson Contender with a sling and shooting jacket, which did real good. Then i added a Harris bipod and it sucked, too much recoil hop, probably affecting accuracy. And last year i used my Service Rifle AR, but my open sight skills have been waxing and waning. What to use, what to use.

From The Trainer Blog. Is this a team event?

Boomboom once again

Slow Fire 200 Yard Standing: 184-1x
Rapid Fire 200 Yard Sitting: 91-1x (Stupid unstable sitting position)
Rapid Fire 300 Yard Prone: 98-2x
Slow Fire 600 Yard Prone: 94-3x (Stupid 7)
Total: 467-7x weak!

Weather was pretty good, no clouds, no wind. Slight haze, peering from Highway 80 at Berkeley to Sausalito. Sitting position was ugly, 3 hits on the 8 ring. At least i sorta called those shots. Slow prone had a hit on the 7 ring, which wasn't where i called it. The crew there was nice enough to open a third relay, where it was only myself and another shooting.

Lets see:

Oil change for Delilah at 95250 miles.

Sent Fluffieladys Rav4 in for 60k service and a spare keyset @ 54k miles.
In that time period, went to a coworkers for tech support.

Few days ago we happened to be at BevMo, i looked around and got myself a bottle of Bowmore Scotch. it's a 12 year single malt that has a real thick smokey flavor. I think a little too overpowering. i can see it going well with anything smoked, and anything dark, like chocolate. So out of my Collection of Scotches, Blue Label, Gold Label, and Speyside is my currnet faves. Green Label has too much taste (like the volume on a radio is too high), and Bowmore is really dark and smokey. Anyone want some?

NapTime During Lunch: Medium

Our one and a half month old Whirlpool Front loading washer has been acting silly these past few times. It seems to leak mysteriously when fluffielady uses it, and fine when i'm around it. So i sit for a few washings and find no leakage, until the next time i load up i notice a puddle under the machine. It's like where did this come from? We call best buy and since it's greater than 30 days, too bad so sad, unless you have their cash money replacement plans. We call whirlpool for their warranty and they send a guy over. It seems that on the loading tray is a overflow drain thats supposed to go into the washer. When the 'professional' installers of best buy came, they forgot to reconnect the hose. So with the hose not connected the water flowed into a pan, which overflowed once in a while causing the puddle from nowhere. Easy fix, if u know washers.
These front loaders are kinda cool, my old machines, the wash was around 35min and the dry was around an hour. These new front loaders are the opposite, an hour to wash and 35min to dry. All i need now is to move the plug and then stack it. Hopefully that should be done by the end of the month. Without any complications (ahuh).

Level Of Difficulty at Work: .75 out of 10 (4 hours mandatory OT in error!)
NapTime During Lunch: Zero

Weee! Happy New Years Everybody!

Yesterday i brought the in-laws off to union square and roamed about. There weren't as much ppl there as the weeks before so it was pretty cool. Didn't buy anything though. Tried to nap from 7pm-10pm, that didn't really go as planned, napped probably for about an hour at most. At 10:45pm we all packed into the Rav4 and parked at the bart station to venture to downtown for the boomboom-fireworks. We got there and it's the usual mad zoo, people everywhere, one big wave of humanity. This years fireworks kinda sucked compared to years before. Usually they're shot above the Ferry building, this year, it's off to the side, by howard and mission streets. So the whole crowd is at justin herman plaza, but everybodys looking off to one side. The fireworks were shot sorta low, and they were shot off one boat instead of the multiples (2 minimum) that used to be used. Peoples on the left side of the Ferry building would have a hard time seeing some of the boomboom. We saw the silly people hop on top of the news vans and started rocking. I never knew so many people can stand on top of a van!
Watched the boomboom, and headed back. Everybody was flooding the Embarcadero station, so we walked to Montgomery and it wasn't that packed heading southward. Got home eventually at 1:30am, oi, only 4 hours of sleep to go to mandatory work that we were assigned to. When i got back from xmas, there was a memo saying that i'm working on new years eve. The next day it got changed to new years day for 8 hours. Then a few days later another change to 10 hour days on new years. I get there and everybody looks at me funny stating that they were looking for me yesterday and that i'm not needed today, which made more sense. But of course making sense makes too much sense. So i still had to work a minimum 4 hours. Then off to home. Bought some lotto tickets, and started cleaning the house.
Painted a bookcase and now we're gonna do fluffielady's usual New years dinner. Das right, Chinese Buffet! Woo!!
