Tech Support Anybody?

ack.. i'm swamped by mass requests to fix computers! it seems that the world is coming to an end! everybodies computers are dying! I guess it's time for a change of things, heh. Some things i can fix, but i know that the ones that i can't are related to one thing and one thing only.. microsoft....
I've got bert's comp who runs 98, but when he added a cd-rw the system couldn't handle it, now it's some IDE interface crap that lags the whole system.. maybe the IDE cables are fried.. maybe..
I've got another whos on ME, and it won't update, first the modem doesn't wanna work. then it did.. then the motherboard dies, now the audio doesn't wanna work, and the windows update won't apply.. what is going on!!!
And third i have my masterpiece, i've gotta take pics of this puppy! heh.. it's running 98, but thats not the thing it's skitzo, in terms of not shutting down nor anything to that effect. But after i fix the hardware i've gotta take care of the software..
Roxanne suggested that i do this on the side n make some $$ outta it.. maybe.. maybe.. heh

This thing is Pimp! and it's been on for about a month or so.. heh! the full size motherboard won't fit the micro-ATX case.. Weak! so he wanted it to work until i found a cheap case, so this was the only solution.

update:
I installed that pimp 98 comp in it's case.. and it works beautifully, it's just that the line noise is making my buddy's AOL chats hard to get to.
The other one with the messed up OS, is returned and we ran to get a sound-card since the OS wasn't accepting any updates.. *how queer*.. hopefully with the new sound card it'll behave.. (yea right)
Berts Comp, i'm still thinking it's the IDE cables.. it's acting as if something is slowing windows into looking for a drive..
And as i got my back cracked i tried to help install a new ATi Radeon 9700 All-in-wonder.. but it has it's own powerplug *scary* and i don't think the PowerSouce wants to give up the juice to start it.. It also has some wierd problem with logging onto www.aol.com and checking it's webmail.. funny some of these things.
Oh ya i got a laptop to play with too.. how fun! the CD-RW drive is in pieces.. what in the world is going on..
