High Power Rifle Match Diary!
No Work Today!
i just realized that i can use this blog as a reference for my high power matches! sweetness! Some of the things that i'll be putting in might or might not make sense. I scored the best as of yet, well i've only shot like 5 matches but i've surpassed the marksman stage (420points) for once. I got a 435-4x, i moved my sights 4 clicks (2 MOA) to the right for the sitting and prone stages. I woke up at 6:45am got out of bed at 7am. Ate my capt'n crunch and left at 7:15. The drive up was different, when i was on the eastshore highway from Emeryville to El Cerrito i could see across the bay all the way to Sausalito and i think saw San Quentin. It was crystal clear, blue sky, a warm temp for it being 7:30 or so. When reaching the Range at 7:45 i was introduced to the famous 1st sunday of the month breakfast.. 4$ got me a heaping serving of meats, eggs, and carbohydrates, and all the oj, and coffee (like i drink coffee*sarcastic*)you want. I've found my secret to shooting, It's all about being distracted, but in a different way. Not the 'stop annoying me or why are they talking while we're shooting kinda distraction, but todays topic in my mind was 'female gladiators'. The shooters i shoot with have this wierd sense of humor, they love telling stories and usually ends with some joke. But These shooters were talking about the Roman gladiators and that there were about 100k gladiator fights in the colosseum. And right before the match starts another shooter stated, 'you know there were female gladiators' ah uh.. interesting..... heh.. I remember last month i 'saved the X' i didn't get one X, whatsoever, this time it was hurt a little more.
22 shot offhand: was pretty good i didn't drop much, well none that i did intentionally or unintentionally.
10 shot standing to sitting: on the 2 spotters i was high and to the left, like a 10o'clock 8 ring.. so i was aiming a little low and the right of the circle. i got a 91 i think.
10 shot standing to prone: the 2 spotters were right on, but when i went to dump the 10 rounds, they landed up and left.. 10 o'clock 8's n 9's.. 4 clicks to the right
12 shot slow prone: i did all good except for one shot which was a 5 or 6.. outta nowhere type shots.. those piss me off the most, the ones where you can't explain how it went.
Shooting is all about being boring, unexcited, repeatable, consistant, in other words: to be a robot
If you can do what you did over and over, then the score should be the same n same. Easy huh? at first it's 'ok, let's hit the middle', now it's 'let's be a robot.' FunFunFun!
