Ahhh yea i went off sneakystyle to the Sacramento CRPA State Championship High Power Match.. Ed and Roderick, my two High power compadres always wanted me to go shoot this thing with them. I always said no because the last time i did it, it was for the Police Olympics and I brought Roxanne to it. Since it was in Sacramento, I thought it woulda been cool to hang out with our (Roxanne n i) buddy Eli from Freaksno State. Well it took quite a bit to shoot the thing (8 hours) and yea i felt really bad for Roxanne, since all she did was sit there throughout the whole thing.. =(
Ever since then Everytime Ed and Roderick talked about going to Sacramento, it was only to get some 80 grain bullets for the 600-yarders.. This time i decided to do it.. 'cuz i was supposed to get some shooting data for this years Police Olympics but due to monies and what not, i wasn't allowed to get the time off to do it.. *Weak!*
It was beautiful, to hold the bullet that i made, and to be able to shoot it 1800 feet away and to get a dead on Center X hit.. Thats what shooting is all about..
It begins like this.. the first stage is at 600 yards, 22 shots, 22 minutes in the prone.. then off to the 200 yard line (you drive to it) and you shoot off another 22 shots in 22 minutes on the standing off-hand.. afterwards is 2 strings of 10 shots standing to sitting in 60 seconds.. Then to the 300 yard line for 2 strings of 10 shots standing to prone in 70 seconds and finishing it off with another 22 shots in 22 minutes at 600 yards.. Well the beginning was fine.. the last 600 yarder, i was tired and it was getting annoyingly hot, also the wind was alot more wilder than before. I'd shoot, it'd hit at one spot, i shoot again, and it'll land at the same spot, but when i adjust so that it'll land closer to X, it wouldnt' move at all.. the wind is crazy!
At the end i come to find that i won 1st for: the Rapid Sitting, Rapid Prone, Rapid Aggregate and finally the match for the Sharpshooter class.. A score of 916 outta 1000.. (thats 24 points away from Master Class) My prize was a nifty 27$ Woohoo!! It almost paid for the 30$ match so i did it for the monies.. But leaving the Range at 5pm, after 9 hours in the blazing sun.. ick! i'll do it again, just not as much as Ed and Roderick.. them psycho 9hour shooting freaks!
