Location: Northstar 51$ hookup via snowbomb.com. $74 regular!
Type of Snow: soft since we hit the snow around 11 ..
Tons of people at the resort: Man, it felt like the weekend
007 Action?: No
Weather condition: Sunny throughout.
Gear Used: Fleece Shirt, backpack..
Road condition: Ok with one slowdown past auburn, but when returning, the usual traffic at Roseville..

Snuck off today to Board with Evan and Jenny to Truckee. When i left my house, i forgot my helmet and goggles. It took me 15 minutes to turn around on skyline to return back home. It takes me 20 minutes to get from home to oakland, whats up with that?
We get to northstar and the parking lot is backwards, zone X is now zone A. So people are parked on the opposing side of the park. I parked and asked the dood with the flag if i can park at the old school spot, he said you can but its no difference. I then noticed the scam. You need to take a bus to the village, and since spring break began they only had 3 ticket people out of 7 windows open. By the time you get on the gondola and touch the snow, it was 11:20. Once you get out, theres 2 lifts to take, both had lines up the wazoo. At times it was pretty thick with people, madness i say! Northstar also has gone mad with signs, it's a ADHD paradise!

Theres 2 barrier walls, some require quite the manuevering, i wonder how the noobz handles it? Do you see the mass of humanity coagulating at the lifts? For a friday?!

Got enough signage, colors, flags, walls, and strings?

Worse thing is, with all the signage, poles, crap out there people tend to stop right next to one, making the gap smaller. Some lifts had lines enter from both left and right side, when before it was only on one side.

Since somehow we got there so late we actually rode till the lifts closed. I was kinda disappointed and figured with the traffic, i was estimating 6 runs till closing, we managed somewhere around 9! Ooo when the week previous, Capt'n D and i were doing 15-20+ runs and leaving early, it kinda puts some sense into things.

I did like one terrain park run, where it's progressive, and you can actually learn on it! Normally you see these sky high jumps or crazy kinked boxes, how does one learn how to ride on that? But this one run began with a low box, then a high box, then a rail, which i finally done, then jumps that increase in size. Finally an area that makes sense! At the end in our usual tradition, my brother and i found a noobland terrain park. There somehow i winged 2 180 jumps, woot! One i did almost naturally and automatically, the second was so-so and kinda worked but was forced.

I dunno about northstar anymore, it has a different feel now, or maybe i'm not feeling it anymore. It's a nice huge park, with a huge village now, but i dunno, the vibe is queer. Oh one last thing, the kiddieland run is still there, and it's now less sketchy and more a normal run essentially with the little house that you shoot through! It feels more like a boardercross run actually.
