Todays Dream was an interested one. It involved being in the Steampunk era. Steampunk is a science fiction genre in which the time is modern today. Yet the technology that we have is run off a different system. One which is still run by gears, steam engine, chain driven type stuff, there are no plastics, it's mainly metals and glass. An example is a CRT television with the exception that there is no frame since it was plastic. You could see in insides, the tube, wiring, metal components.
Anyhow my dream involved building the empire state building but with large machines, the only thing i really remembered was that at the top of the building were these enormous panels that opened or closed depending on daylight. These panels were moved by these huge chains that ran on the side of the building.

Example of a steampunk computer:

Onto the main course.. Pumpkins!!

One of Roz's many supermodel poses.

The crew gathered to posse up off to Half Moon Bay. Highway one on the way there and back sucked. The suckage started near the town of half moon bay. I'm guessing everybody was trying to get into town for some reason. i think there was quite a media blitz on the town and everybody descended on it like mad. We arive at our usual Arata's Pumpkin farm, which was mad packed with people. It's the most we've ever seen in the past 2 years of going there. And with that came the crazy prices, pumpkins as much as 18$!! C'mon thats a mad amount to pay for some squash. They added a bit of things and i guess charges people for it. The one thing that we felt was worth it was the 5$ hay bale maze. It's huge and had a fair amount of deadends and roundabouts. So it took a while to get around it.
Fluffielady and i see a sign for an old west pumpkin patch, and i guess this guy who owns the land decides to create his own old west scenery. It's called the Long Branch Saloon and Farms. You can rent it out for your own custom cowboy party. Last year it was low key, had a small undecipherable sign and we thought it was another small pumpkin patch. I think these guys were in it for the word of mouth type stuff. Since they were giving away pumpkins. Buy 4 slices of pumpkin pie, and get a free pumpkin. What kinda pumpkin? they don't care, grab one out there. Also at the patch their pumpkins were 4$ or less, no matter the size. So fluffielady got the mondo one from the pie slices and another one which i nicknamed the curler, since it looks like it's for curling, for 4$. I liked the old west themed saloon, and everybody seemed to praise the bathroom.
The third spot that we went to was up the hill past arata's and it was just a plain field with one exception, it had a pumpkin tossing sling attached to it. You had to really pull on it to get the baby pumpkins going. There were a few horses feeding off the exploded pumpkins, and they were standing a little too close to the target. One guy actually hit the horse square on the head with a pumpkin. The horse kinda shrugged it off and continued foraging for pumpkin bits. Silly horse. The sling was harder this time and it wasn't aimed at the right area. Sherwins got some pics of that.
Driving back sucked, everybody wanted to get onto the 92. Good luck with that one..
Good times good times.
