Took the day off and we set off to the Academy of Sciences for it's 3rd wednesday of the month's free day. Admission is 25$ a pop, yuck! It opens at 9:30am, we arrive 9:40am..
First complication: Parking.. Good luck, we parked outside where it's 4-hr parking. Walking from where we parked to the Academy = a few hours.. heh j/k
Second complication: Line. We first saw the long line going towards the statue near the building. Then it kept extending to the bushes by the corner of Concourse Drive and JFK Blvd. As you reached the bushes, you then notice it extends towards the 8th ave intersection. At least it's moving at a good clip. We eventually get in..
Third complication: Once inside, it's masses of humanity, and lines to eternity. First thing i've noticed is that it's small inside, and kinda empty, if you could imagine it without the masses of humanity.
Fourth complication: Movement with a stroller.. Not cool, combine that with floods of peoples crowding little windows for viewing = really not cool.
We walk around and couldn't really see much. The line to the rainforest wrapped around the building, and the tickets to the planetarium was for the 3:30pm show. It's currently 10:30am..
We decide to go downstairs to the aquarium. It seems impressive, but it also seemed like being in a club. The only thing worse than this was the good old days of halloween at the castro..
We leave at 11am, and at that time the line, which extended past the bushes, was stopped. There could only be so many people inside. I can say that it's a totally smaller place, and it's focused on a few exhibits, which causes it to be even more crowded. The Rain forest, Planetarium, Aquarium and Roof are all there is to see. It's not like the good old days where the large long hallways and exhibits upon exhibits kept flowing. Even the albino alligator was out on a medical leave!
We leave and get the rear left tire patched. Somehow the valve was damaged and was slowly leaking. I can say, by switching the spare tired thats mounted on the trunk, the engineering is flawed. The spare tire has a different offset then the 4 normal rims. When the spare is removed and replaces the normal rim, the threaded studs are too long and the bolts tighten up not on the rim, but to it's limit. The inverse also sucks, when i tried putting the normal rim into the space where the spare was, the offset makes the normal rim not able to fit into the space. The threaded studs aren't long enough.. Weak!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.65 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Medium
Doh! There goes our 3 day weekend. Yesterday fluffielady returns from teaching dance with a sprained ankle. No it's not from dancing, it's from walking in the parking lot towards the car. Her knee is all booboo'd and ankle is puffed up. It's all about ice. Ice!
We wanted to head down past Devils Slide into this little beachy area but it requires you duck n dodge the cars of Highway 1. Oi what to do for this weekend.. Should i go IPSC on sunday?
On another note:
The Rav4's check engine light has been coming on and off here and there. When it turns on, theres no perceivable change in driving. It would go on and off, i finally bought a OBD-2 Reader on ebay and checked the error code. P0141, Oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank1 sensor 2). Replacement price? 75$ Lala. If anyone needs a OBD-2 reader, you know where there is one. It spares you 90$ to visit to the dealership, just to plug in the reader.

Changed the oil on the Rav4, 60k!
Recharged the SeaChem Purigen Packet for the fishtank. It's kinda neat, you buy this packet of what looks like whtie sand, stick it in your fish tank filter. The packet absorbs bad stuff and the white sand turns brown. Whenever you feel like working it, it's a 3-step process which takes 2 days to do. 1 24-hr bleaching, 1 8-hr recharge, and 1 4-hr ph balance. Then the sand turns back to it's original color and pop it back into the filter. This is my second recharging, it lasts for a few months or so. About the same time as a charcoal filter replacement, or whenever you feel like playing with the fishie tank. The Fish are happy 'cuz swimming in your own pee isn't all that enjoyable.

Whelp that was easy,
The Rav4 is done up with new rotors and brakes and fluffielady likes the new stopping power. The rear pads have at least 85% left and all it needed was some adjustment.

Lets see:
Oil change for Delilah at 95250 miles.
Sent Fluffieladys Rav4 in for 60k service and a spare keyset @ 54k miles.
In that time period, went to a coworkers for tech support.
Few days ago we happened to be at BevMo, i looked around and got myself a bottle of Bowmore Scotch. it's a 12 year single malt that has a real thick smokey flavor. I think a little too overpowering. i can see it going well with anything smoked, and anything dark, like chocolate. So out of my Collection of Scotches, Blue Label, Gold Label, and Speyside is my currnet faves. Green Label has too much taste (like the volume on a radio is too high), and Bowmore is really dark and smokey. Anyone want some?
