Yesterday, 11 peoples (including me) pumped off 15000 rounds of 68 caliber jello balls, at each other of course, for my buddy Altons Bachelor Party. Sunol Paintball was alright. It has 3 speedball style fields, from small, where you can shoot to the other end, to medium, maybe 150yards at most. With such short fields comes quick games and quick teamwork. My brother and i were in our usual advantage camo, which had little advantage since it's a wide open field with white gooey'd walls and giant wire spools. We had a good time, everybody got pumped fairly well.
My favorite was one episode of capture the flag. It's situated in the middle of the map, take it and bring it home. We lost the first time, so we devised a brilliant plan. I go gearless and weaponless, sprint to the flag, grab it, and run back. That episode was over in 30seconds. When the other team got into their tactical positions, they heard 'game over'. Thats how you capture a flag.
Sunol Paintball offers pick up games and they're fairly nice doods, it needs more variety of games and fields. 9am-3pm
After that, headed to Alameda to the Sushi House. This place is pretty cool, ultra value for the quailty. You get a load of good food for what you paid. I had a Chirashi Bowl ($17), Various Sashimi on a bed of Sushi rice. My brother had the deluxe version ($24), it came with even more wierdo rawness.. They were prety tasty and crazy filling. The Bachelor had a Bento Box ($17), which i called more like a bento tray or bento crate! That'll fill 2 peoples tummies. The only dissapointment that i saw was this guys order a roll called Hella Hot, but hella hot it was not. =( A handfull of Wasabi Peas can outdo hella hot.
Wedding is next week, doodoo!
Today:
- Checked out the two paintball marks on my right arm, it's not bad, not that welty looking.
- Moved the router from the kiddo's room to the garage. That involved installing another phone line, and banging nails into the walls to mount the dsl modem, router and surge protector.
- Cleaned my paintball gear + gun, and decided to do a minor trigger job on it, man once i learned how to do it once, it's like what else can i grind?
- Went to staples (turn in some ink cartridges for 3$, target for a heater, curtain rod, babies R' us for some vitamins. funfunfun!
- Replaced stupid cheap wooden curtain rod broke in the boys room. Its screwed together by a bolt, once it breaks, you can't put it back unless you used glue or something.
beh, back to work.. ugh..

Did some laundry, and started setting up for my wifi migration. Our house only has 3 phone jacks, one in the kitchen, one in the master bedroom and the last where the kiddo is going to be at. I don't like the idea of 2.4ghz waves flowing around the kid at its strongest spot, so i'm going to relocate it to the garage.
I find a location right next to the door and seek out how to do this. It's quite easy, for a 1-lined house, most homes are wired for 2 lines. Near where my mail slot is, is where the phone wiring meets. I study that and see where the main line is hooked up to. I bought a 50-foot cat-3 3-pair line (for 3 lines if i wanted) for 8$. The hardest part is stripping the wires, since i don't own a wire stripper, i used wire cutters to gently strip. I routed the wires and stapled them to the side of the basement and to where its all going to meet. This stage is complete, i've looked at the dsl modem, router and surge protector and their all wall mount doable. Now it's time to plan..

And now i've got a whole lotta pork buns and egg custards for breakfast! And if i could only get a name..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.5 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Short (experimental technique)
Work was whatever..
I get home and i notice that theres no kitchen faucet. Lovely, the familia was doing a flush of the pipes and somehow the inner lining cracked/melted/broke and was spilling over under the sink. So off to Home Depot we go, we got a thermostat as well as a repair kit and telephone wire.
Home Depot no longer sells touchscreen thermostats, why is that? Maybe others had touch sensitive problems like mine? So i got another for 35$ and it's a quick and easy install. This gadget involves physical buttons to press, a whole lot better. We'll see how the other projects work out.

Theres madness in the house! Shift is happening left n right as usual. The in-laws are here and we're reconfiguring furniture upstairs for the add-on thats coming soon. With that the boys room which has the computer and my toys, now has the twin bed, it's just like my room at my parents house back in the day. A bookshelf is moved out and shifted into: the girls room / office will house the crib. We're taking out a chest of drawers. The master bedroom busts a 90degree rotation with the bed, opening the room for an old school bassinet, one where fluffielady used. Its kinda neat. The good thing with this is now fluffieladys alarm clock is on her side, not that she'll need to use it much. The alarm tone is one of those nuclear alert warning tones, and she asks me if i get an adrenalin rush when the alarm rings.. Nooo, i have a gentle piano playing ringtone to gently guide me out of the dreamstate. Silly fluffielady.

Dream:
a few days ago i dreamt that i was driving delilah around. All i remember after that was making a left turn. Can anybody decypher that one?
Today fluffielady and i decided to visit the westlake shopping center. Especially to Linens and things, most things were 50% off, and there wasn't much there. So my advice is, if you have a King or Cal. King sized bed, you have quite a selection of sheets available. And if you want towels and some plates, they too are 50% off. Fluffielady was looking for a bedskirt and found one. Bedskirts, what are they for?
Shopped around, the place was pretty packed. It was a whole lot different before the remodeling.
Cleaned up the house a bit, we need to take on my room and see what we can compactorize. Its going to be fun, the trick is to take a section at a time, or it'll overwhelm you..
Finished The WitchBlade Anime Series. Typical love conquers all ending. This time it's about a moms love to her children. You need to be in the know or else it'll be just like the Matrix 3 ending. People go *wha?*
I gotz the iphone to 2.0.1, first time, i accidentally got itunes to put back the settings. It looked like it worked but the email got buggy, i couldn't modify or delete my mail settings. So i had to reflash again. It does seem a little faster than 2.0
Oh yes, i forgot to put my latest of Toasty Productions. First-Person (bicycle) view heading down O'Shaugnhessy Road from Portola. I recorded my way up Teresita Blvd. but it was lame, unless you want to see some uphill uphill. Quite nifty what this Canon SD450 can do.
The mount is so secure that it shows every bump on the road that i hit. And it shows how messed up the streets are in SF. Thats why i bought a dual suspension in the first place. Hmmz, maybe i should install the camera on my downhill bike and see the difference.
But by doing this route, my commute has been extended from 3.8 miles round-trip to 6.2. Not bad, i need something more to go with, and with cars behind me, it entices me to pedal a little faster.

Someone turned on the color in the water, it was quite a vivid blue
Yesterday we got our replacement bed from Macy's. Pretty cool, thanks Simmons for a 10-year warranty. We originally had a Simmons World Class "Cayley", its a pillowtop with a soft memory foam. The warranty takes effect when the memory foam has memorized your body depth by 1.5"+ we were at 2.5". At times in bed, it felt like sleeping in a valley of sorts.
Our replacement is a similar world class model 'angelique', it has a firmer memory foam and it is a bit stiff. Thats alright, the bed feels taller now, lordy.
Too bad the new handsfree law is taking in effect tommorrow. I forgot to try to text while on a motorcycle, drats!

Fluffielady and i awaken early to the bastard heat that still lingered with us overnight, man this insulation is good, too good. Soo good that we slept downstairs where its cooler.
We headed out to high tea time at Tranquilitea near oceana. We surveyed the scene for a future baby shower, and with that came a scone and some Rooibos Tea, quite tasty, but blazing hot tea in a hot morning doesn't work out right.
After high tea, we marched over to Foster City for some Red Egg n Ginger, for Jasmine! I don't take as much photos of peoples anymore, i need to do so without overdoing it.

Roz n Jivs, childrenfolk!
It was cool, food was yummie, met some pplz, eat some eats.

Got home and saw this. Kinda weird with the jetsteam going into infinity. Fluffielady thinks da plane went down, i doubt it.

Finally my phone service is back. Its a cluster crap, one of finger pointing. We were to have service back on the 16th. On the 16th, nada happens. We call at the evening and fluffielady gets into a verbal match with a 'supervisor' (everybody is a supervisor now) about service n crap. AT&T claims its comcasts fault.
On the 17th, the DSL goes out, ahh yea things are gonna get sketchy now.
On the 18th I call a Comcast number that at&t gave and its a dood named mike. I had an interesting convo with him and he feels my pain, it was a technician line and he couldn't do anything but lookup orders. I call the normal craptastic phone number and they claim our number isn't 'owned' by them, so its at&t's problem. I tell them, it isn't working and they further see that there is a pending order, it got cancelled and lo n behold we have phone and dsl again.
Today, a Comcast tech comes and Fluffielady politely tells him to put on his notes that we don't exist and that comcast should never ever go near this house again.
In other news, i am proud to be part of the brothers.

Forgot to post yesterday, the whole day was serious alzheimers yesterday. But Fluffielady and I signed up to do a focus group involving Brownells.com from a group called EyeTools.com. The lure is a 50$ check and 50$ gift certificate to Brownells, they have tons n tons of gunparts, OEM, everything. The catalog is a mini-phone book which includes tools from the obscure to the common mans gun oil. i'm looking for some front sights and para parts to modify.
At eyetools, i expected a room full of people (isn't that what a focus group is?) and we all watch a video or presentation. Nope, it was 2 rooms with a computer in each room. The monitor has this infra-red scanner which watches your eye-patterns while viewing a website. The first 4 were news sites, and it asked how we thought of the webpage layout, etc. At the end is a newer version of brownells and we were to rate it. It took Fluffielady 30min and myself 45. i had some input to input. We walk off with da monies and floated about downtown.
The past few days, fluffielady has been working up the house, mainly painting and i follow suit with the winerack:

I'm glad the rack is removable, it kinda had to be, the rack as a whole couldn't fit in. Stain dangit stain!

This is something for the consumerist.com
Today was all fine and dandy till i get home. The phone is out, fluffielady tells me. So i try some troubleshooting, maybe bad wiring, something blew up, line outage maybe? It wasn't until i looked up my phone bill online that it states 'your telephone number does not exist, a work order or order or service may have occurred'.. Ookay, it had an order number made 5/23/08 and is 'in progress'. I call lovely AT&T and get this ghetto girl (i have the name on my other computer) that put me on hold, i get transfered to a Rebecca and she asks how can she help me, then blurts out a 1800 number and hangs up on me. Now this is getting wierd. I call again and get a Rachael from Texas and she was quite pleasant and nice, i ask her whats this work order that i never ordered and she says, oh, it's an order for disconnection of land line service. uh, say wha?
So who made and authorized this order, why comcast of course. uh, excuse me?
So flashback to 5/23/08, it was a nice friday afternoon/evening and i just got back home from work. There were two gentlemens walking around asking if we used to be comcast customers, i said yes, used to be. And he tries to price out what i have and if comcast can beat it. I told him the numbers and he tries to pitch this deal on me. He shows me neighbors order forms (is that confidential info? or what?) I told him to give me some flyers and i'll think about it. I didn't sign any papers, no handshake deal, no nada.
A week later, a technician calls fluffielady to schedule an appointment for service. Fluffielady tells them to go away, we never ordered anything from comcast. They call a few more times and we haven't heard from them since.
Today we learned that we were 'slammed' by comcast. Having phone service changed without our consent. I see it has fraud, i look up the Better Business Bureau and PUC and nada. All i see from the web are tips on how to prevent slamming. There doesn't seem to be any consequence for this, if the owner catches this in the first 30 days, they don't need to pay for services. If its after 30 and owner pays then the slammer company is to pay back both the owner as well as the originiating provider. Thats it.
Well we have no landline till the 16th of june. the really strange part is, my DSL still works. DSL requires a landline to operate. WhatsGoingOn?
As for the new iphone, i was really diggin it until i heard that the new data plan for it is 30$ extra a month. Talk about $$$!!! Now what do i do?

Wow these extended warranty things do work. The in-laws bought a bed for us when we bought the house 4 years ago. It was on sale from Macys 50% off too! A Simmons World Class Queen size with a 4" memory foam plush top. The saleslady sold us on the extended warranty, it was only 50-100$, for a 10-year, i think. Its a Cadillac of a bed, and was pretty good until both of us started to feel sunken into the foam pad. Now there are 2 distinct grooves where we lay and a hump on the middle. This memory foam has memorized us alright. So we call macy's, they came and the guy looked at the bed, saw the grooves and asked how long have we had this bed? Its hosed. So the ball is on macys court and we shall see what kinda tomfoolery will resort from this.
Today after work i went to the dentist and the filling is in limbo status. When i brush, its sensitive near that wisdom tooth. The dentist actually started tapping on it and asks 'does this hurt' it felt like he was mining, but no real pain. So it'll be as is till next month and hes thinking of changing the filling into whatever polymer now to a silver one. All the years he makes fun of me when i sit on the dentist chair always saying 'so we're here for the wisdom tooth extraction?' and now the tooth isn't working for me, now he wants to save it. Dood..

Time During Lunch: None (Playing with a wi-fi repeater, again. Finally got it to work)
a better more prettier sunset yesterday.
Project Lush Closet is complete (sorta).

Built the bottom wine rack thats currently modular. It needs some color and thats it. The only problem i have now, is theres left over bottles of vino, etc. Someones gotta take care of them. Looks pretty good, it looks like how it shoulda looked like in the first place. I've also noted that i do not own a premium rum or brandy, hmmz. I've got at least 2 of every kind. While i do have 3 rums, Captain Morgan, Malibu, and 151, those are more for mixing. Hmmz, i need to empty some of these bottles before i get new ones. Grr..

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.25 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Medium
This was yesterdays rendering project. A hacked Canon SD500 running a intervalometer script (timed shots). 1 hours worth taken every 30 seconds, pointed out the master bedroom window.
The silly sun hid behind the trees. Hopefully i'll get a good one, i just need a good sunset to capture it. I redid todays sunset and it looks quite better. It'll be done tommorrow.
Now to the Project house:

Isn't that a supersized wooden tool box!

Stained top shelf, it looks ehh, ok.

Glass rack, during fabrication.

Stained and semi-finished.
Now it's onward to the wine bottle rack system. its gonna be sweet. Funny how when all the alkies are pulled out, you see mostly my college collection.

I did notice that some of my stuff should just be taken out... in one gulp. Board games and vitamins are bonus items!

Happy Mommies Day!
We had a lil Waffle Making for breakfast with ancient-yet-still-sealed-nutella (expiration mar.2005), and it was still good!
Did some laundry and went ahead into our project wine closet:

Picture taken around noon, the fake ceiling was already chopped up and the flourscent lights removed. A new wooden ceiling was put in higher a few days ago, and the walls painted. Now we're going to install a new light fixture as well as making bits to fit wine glasses as well as a shelf for well, the top shelf stuff, of course.

Light installed and on, taken around 8pm

Things are going pretty well. We just need to stain the wood bits a little and the upper part should be all done up. Next will be the wine area..
i've also got another project that is rendering as we speak, and its taking forever to render! I've been trying every which way to hack my Canon SD450 to do things it shouldn't, and well it couldn't. So i turn to Fluffielady's Canon Sd500 and it works!

i keep forgetting to put his on the blog (dang Alzheimer's!) but my fishies as of a few weeks ago got cooties probably from the march 8th purchase of them from Petco. They have some sort of cootie where the fish get ulcerated, with blood visible under the skin. A few perished and looking on the net, there were a few solutions, with some said they're done for. The in-laws bought some meds at the pet shop and i used the whole dealio on the fishies. Most of the fishies looked like they were doomed, swimming lazily sometimes off kilter. But now with the drugs, they're moving around again. Silly Fishies!
Today we roamed about to hillsdale, i had a yuppie moment and bought a $19 Crate n Barrel froofroo metal orange juicer perched on delicate glass. At first it looked ok, but after purchasing it i knew 1) that was a yuppie move, and 2) i don't think it's going to last. I even asked the salesman if its sturdy, he tells me that nobody has returned them that he knows and hes a manager. Whelp, i chipped it when i got the first orange on it. Hows that for product testing. The guy tells me if its broken i have 90 days to return. Mwahhaa, i can't handle yuppie stuff, it dies the moment i use it.

Went Pewpew for a littlebit, the marlin works great with the one exception. I may have cut that one spring a little too much. The result is the rounds in the tube exert a pressure onto the loading gate, this pushes on the lever. Since the spring is lightened now, the lever pops open when loading. Doh! I've always figured, if i screwed it up it could be replaced, minus the frame. heh.
Somehow Fluffielady's Algae Eater fish of 19 years vanished and we found it as a skeleton on the bottom of the tank. I fished up the 5 sections and took pics. It's just like those old school cartoons where the Heathcliff has a whole fish, sticks in it his mouth, and pulls out a whole skeleton.
So we went for some groceries and new fishies, 2 baby algae eaters and 3 multicolored feeders.
Tomorrow we ride, if i can get used to springing forward a hour, oi!

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.50 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Small
Dream:
Fluffielady woke me up saying "tell the guy that i'll take it." Man she shops in her sleep? Nighttime talking n shopping!
I keep forgetting to put this on but with all this crazy rain and wind, our dish keeps on ticking. I think there was once where there was pixelation but it went away after 10seconds. Pretty good in this crazy windy spot. It sounds and feels like a car wash sometimes.

Time During Lunch: Short
Forgot to put up some xmas pics, haven't been on the computer, been watching movies (ugh):

YumYum, all done.
I busted an Alton Brown Turkey that my coworker hijacked, and then passed onto me. We had a honeybaked ham and the usual dindin items.

Silly Cat likes!

Santa gave sent us a fireplace heater! I spray painted it with some oven bake finish type stuff and lit the fire! I think the thing works ok, we need to move it a little and see what we get.
Got some nifty gifts, cast iron dutch oven, some Combos Snacks, a shirt, and a nifty ethernet / 802.11 wifi HP All-In-One. Woot! Merry Christmas!
Now this is nifty!
