Silly Delilah!
Shes chillin at Tomas Motorsports for her 100k tuneup and gas-tank replacement. It costed a pretty penny but now they claim it's a whole new car. Good for $2.5k it better be like new. Main thing done was to replace this plastic guide where the timing chain sits, which the chain is also replaced. Other goodies include, replacing clutch components, replaced coolant housing and thermostat. New seals and some of the common hoses are put in, flushed transmission, and coolant. Good Maintainence equals long lasting car. At least it's gotta last another 100k! Talk about classic car by then.

Ahhh yea this is what i'm talking about. I like a good Side Scrolling Shooter Game and what not but this is mad:

I thought U.N. Squadron on Elite mode was hard or Einhander with it's epileptic flashes difficult but watching this thing holy! Even though it's optically hallucinogenic and hypnotic i can see that the plane has one small point to get killed. i'd like to get a hold of this game called Mushihimesama. Even the title is hypnotic!

Loaded up a bunch of replacement .38specials. I have 3 empty boxes of .40 left to load and i should be all caught up on my ammo supply. 100rnds every day is my exercise.
Also i changed the air filter to the heater, which has been blasting for eternity. I'm down for a nice tapping of a gentle rain, but here at home it sounds like a car wash. Someone just has a water hose pointed at our walls n windows!

Dreams: i dreamt that i was walking around this neighborhood where in front of every house had a little concrete box with flat compressed disc shaped coals, each box came with a smiliar looking shovel. After that, Vicks, J, Sherwin n i head out to some party / convention of sorts to check out some goodies.

i know yall be wantin some of this..

It's an alarm clock designed to cook bacon, which you load frozen the night before onto the cooking tray. 10 minutes before your wake up time the easybake starts the cooking. I see it more like those coffee makers that run at a certain time. Waking up to the smell of cooked bacon ready to eat is kinda neat. But you've gotta clean the grease trap fairly regularly if your a baconfiend.
i wonder if it oinks as the alarm tone.

Another day at the range. oi!
Today's match was a 300-yard metric (International) prone rifle match using iron sights. Brought out the trusty AR-15 and went at it. Shooting in the Service Rifle Division i lost to the other guy by 1 point. There were 8 shooters today.
Scores:
184-3x
177-3x
181-1x
Total: 542-7x

One of the guys yesterday was explaining that the rings on the target are slightly closer than the 200 yard target. Yea right, it was more like the 600-yard target i'm used to. The difference between where i usually shoot at Richmond and here is that the wind is more present. I actually had to aim off to the right by half a post or even the whole post at times, the flags were flying 95% verticle at some points then dip a little and surge back. How annoying! I had 9's left n right argh! I never knew that a bit of wind pushed my bullets so much. But then since the scoring rings are closer, maybe it's pushed less than what i thought.
After shooting that i tried out my Para at 15, 25 and 50 yards and come to the conclusion that at the 15 my aim is 3" below center, at 25 it's 6" and at 50 it's about 9" below center. Silly bullets still heading upwards.

Chillin at Bakersfield (Posed 2/18)
Today dad-in-law n i went to the usual 5 dogs range to compete at a psudo bianchi cup match hosted by Kern shooting sports. The weather was sunny, and warm, with a breeze. i've always wanted to try out a bianchi cup style match, originally created as a pistol match for policemen. It's never changed so the format is revolver friendly. Shooting 196 rounds (4 events x 48 shots from 10-25 yards) out of the 686 was pretty fun, and i won the match out of 12 people. i did have about a 20-year youth advantage so being able to twist my back at the barricade portion helped me out.
Scores:
Practical (draw n shoot) 455-16x out of 480
Barricade (draw n shoot behind a huge wall) 450-27x out of 480
Mover (draw n shoot at a gently moving target) 411-12x out of 480
Falling Plates (draw n shoot at 8" plates) 450-45x out of 480
Total: 1766-100x out of 1960-196x

Shooting the mover was pretty fun. Leading the sight slightly in front was pretty hard. Most hits were left to right due to the silly thing moving. The match was pretty mellow and nobody was sweating anything. It was more of a fun shoot than anything.
Shot some rounds out of the Springfield 1903 after the match to see how well it groups. At best it's around 1" at 100-yards but i know it can do better, i just haven't figured it out yet.

No work today, i cut. heh

I had a dream, i remembered it much more detailed this morning but it had to do with a stalker stalking me.

I bailed from work today to go shoot it out with the FBI and SFPD snipers. i am seriously the underdog since my equipment isn't meant for the requirements. What i need is a M1-A or a tuned bolt scoped rifle, i have neither (spare $1500 anyone?). So my service rifle had to do. In my vantage i see this as more 600 yard prone training. There was only one other iron sight shooter, he happens to be a Canadian Long Distance (500yard+) Prone Champion from a few years ago. Great. And he's shooting a match rifle with all the accoutrements. The match wasn't ran as well as before, new director n what not. My score was a 189-6x, the group was averaging at the 9-ring 9-o'clock. Fricking Natural Point of Aim Crap, i gotta get that down better. I think my front sight blade is wobbly actually, it's not perfectly flat, or i'm hallucinating, like usual. I do say that i did beat a few people on their scoped and bipod'd rifles with such a low score. ick. I did score pretty well with the 686 revolver at the 25-yard national match course using my newly loaded rounds. 270 out of 300.

At Least:
1)I finished my shooting diary book.. Dear Diary, ...
2)And i finished another 8pounds of Varget Powder, thats my 2nd 8pounder. One left.
3)At the same time i finished another box of 1000 Winchester Primers too. One Winchester and one Federal box left.

Afterwards i stopped by Tomas Sport Tuning because i had a queer gasoline leak problem once. I just had the fuel filter replaced and at the first filling it overflowed, from the bottom. Finally i had the time to stop by to have it checked out and for some reason the 'apprentice' guy didn't notice the gaping hole that was caused when my tire blew out. Yep my gas tank has a hole about two fingers wide. Good thing about the hole is that it's on top of the tank, and it's purpose is to fill up and create pressure on the pump to 'click' denoting that it's filled. So no overfilling for me, and i'm not gonna drive delilah in the rain. Since i was going to break out the cash to do the 100k mile service, i might as well get a replacement tank. Total service is around $2k. Poor Delilah.

Tactical Rifle $1500 which i won't shoot much probably or 100k mile service on Delilah, which i drive a little more than shooting the Tactical Rifle (~700 miles since last Tomas MotorSport Visit 11/08/06). Hmmz good thing my tax refund is coming.

The worst thing to do to a kid:

is to tell them that they are the best. Yea i sound like a meanie but i am a realist. I think my style kills the ego and encourages humility.
Yesterday fluffielady had a dance troupe competition at the K.A.R. (Kids Artistic Revue) National Dance Competition. First problem was that it is labeled as a National Dance Competition, i suppose there is truth to it because they work around the nation. It's not the National as in finalists from the nation flock here to battle it out.
So KAR's big thing is that the dance teams aren't competing against each other but more against themselves by a point system, yet they use the point system to rank the teams. Confused? This brings out the second flaw, there doesn't seem to be many second place people. Theres 4 rankings you can get, i'll try to simplify it by corresponding it to Scholastic Letter grades.
A = Top Elite 1st Place
B = Top 1st Place
C = 1st Place
D = Top 2nd Place
F = No award (i assume)
So of the 4 dances that fluffielady's kids do, every time they got 1st Place. In some categories theres 2 1st place followed by a top first or a top elite first place. Yep thats right, everybody's the best because everybody is 1st place. No more first loser, no more hey thanks for trying have this 'participation' award. Nada.
This appeases the parents, because to the public their child got 1st place in the NATIONAL dance competition. Dang sounds superpro huh? Yep, it also gets to the kids' brains that they are the best. Which results in 2 possibilities, 1) Strive for more, work harder, get even better (Top elite 1st place?) or 2) Tell everybody your the best, that it was easy cheese, and therefore i don't need to strive for more, screw you guys, i'm the best, i scored 1st place, and i don't need to work anymore i have 'natural' talent and skills.
i've always learned that there is ALWAYS someone better than me. I find it true with every hobby / sport that i do. I may be better than some, but there are some who are better than me. It's the natural evolution of things, when i'm 55 i might be in the high-master class in High Power, sure, but i probably won't be doing any halfpipe or mondo snow jumps at that age either. We all can dream, but at least do it in a more proper way.

Greed is good, come get yours!

1)Forgot to put that the Average American's Savings Rate is NEGATIVE one percent. Sweet! One more end of the world sign..

2)Poor Anna Nicole. When people pass away (is this term blase` now? 'Dead or Died' seems to be news media's new phrase) they are often remembered for whatever good things they've accomplished. This one is opposite, you can't make this stuff up! Now Anna Nicole leaves a trail of destruction and soon-to-be lawsuits left n right. I do applaud her, she worked it and got away with it. Which seems to be the trend these days.
-Married a 85+ year old dood worth 1.6 billion. They met at a strip club, she was the stripper.
-He died the next year, she obtained 470+ million from that.
-Son of 85+ Year old dood screams bloody murder about this 470+ million, fights the courts for 12 years, HE then dies of old age. (Stress related?)
-She gives birth to a daughter and all of a sudden her 20-year old son passes away.
-Now everybody is going to fight for this 'half-billion dollar baby'. Past possible baby daddy's are gonna spring up stating that he's the father. Heck, i'm the father!
-This should go on Maury Povich for some reason..

Makes me wanna drink and go sleep with best friends wives and become mayor or something.. I feel left out.. *sadness*

Haha suckers! Yall said video games are bad for u! Not anymore, not only can you lose weight playing Dance Dance Revolution and the New Wii Diet. It also can sharpen vision by playing First Person Shooters (i.e. Counter-Strike, Battlefield2). Life in the digital world.

Also i'm going to put up a list of things pointing at the slow collapse of the world. It's coming, i thought having Amish Kids shot up was bad, now Astronauts, the one thing that alot of children (in our time, who knows what they wanna grow up to be nowadays) aspire to be are trying to go after each other. I also saw a commercial saying how one hospital is #1 in attacking cancer in children. Since when do children get cancer? What in the world is going on?

Dreamtime:
The crew and i were hanging out at some glorious mansion and we headed to the backyard area just to check it all out. One section of the backyard was plotted like tennis courts with fences and what not, but it was on a side of a hill so playing tennis would be whacky. Anyhow, Sherwin goes throwing something in the air and it lands one 'tennis' court away, great. So Sherwin and myself decide to hop the fence and get whatever it was that he tossed (a hat or something). After hopping the fence i notice some antique items hidden in the tall grasses. I picked a few up and then felt that i need to repay or compensate for these items. At this time there were other people who hopped the fence from different directions and they too found these items. Well there was this glass jar looking thing with a liquid in it. One of the strangers decided to put in a few dollars, and it actually vanishes. I put in a 5 dollar bill but don't really know if that was enough. So we grabbed the hat and hopped over. The gang went back into the mansion and then i noticed a spirit sitting on a bench. I went to talk to the spirit and asked if i paid enough. The Spirit said 'a few dollars more would be nice.' So i open my wallet and noticed that i had 3 2-dollar bills which piqued my interest. I pulled them out and noticed that they looked like 2-dollar bills but were fake with advertising on the back. So i turn to the spirit and ask if these fake bills were ok. The spirit says ok, and i handed them to the spirit.
Then i wake up. Whats that about?

My shooting compadres have this to say to me:
"Once in a while a shower is nice. It's good to get a clean"

200 Yard Slow Offhand: 185-1x
200 Yard Rapid Sitting: 99-3x (Doh!)
300 Yard Rapid Prone: 100-3x (Pic above)
600 Yard Slow Prone: 98-3x (2 friggin 9's!)
Total: 482-10x (werd!)
Song in head: Some techno stuff, forgot what it was.

Weather was uniformly overcast so that wasn't bad.
i guess this jacket does work. i'm feeling at the beginning of a groove with this. Today was kinda whacked though. I decided to go shoot today instead of sunday, get there and it's a mob of people 34 or so. Normally it's under 20, so we had 4 relays of shooting, and lucky me, i get to be on the third, which starts around 11am. So it's 9am, what is there to do? I go drive off, fill up, venture around the hilltop mall area. Bought some $11 Sake from BevMo. Too bad i don't smoke, then i'd really be accepted by the ATF. Drove back arom 10:30 and the second relay just started. Jeez! Ok, headed over to the IPSC range to see if anyone i know is practicing. Nope, instead i got some possible ideas on tuning my revolver. yea baby!
Today there was alot of heckling going back and forth, kinda funny. We had the 2006 awards presented, and the theme was a kinda morbid, pass the torch kinda feel. Today i haven't seen so many youngins shootin, with one youngin age 17, Top scorer of '06. Yep he beat grand master O'Connell, but then O'Connell didn't shoot that much last year. He did win some western regional prone shoot. He won High Senior and Aggregate score, the match consisted of 3 days of shooting 600-700-800 and 1000 yards, each with 45 seconds a shot. He's my hero.
At the rapid sitting i thought i was going at it a bit too fast. Since i churned out a 99, i'm not sweating it. Using a different sitting position technique. Seems to work way better than before. Before i was sitting indian style which hunched me over a bit too much, so now my legs aren't tucked in as much. Jacket works well now, i'm not sweating like mad anymore. I can sense it, soon i will be in zen with the rifle.. yes..

Yesterdays Sunset..

Another box of 1000 Winchester Small Primers replacing used.

Whelp it had to happen. I guess it could survive another 2 weeks till my 7th (holy!) year anniversary. But i decided to just go get another one. I bought a pair of Danner Boots for Work for 135$ when i turned permanent status (august '01) and a 30$ lighter (i went all out on a purchase spree!) So the boots lasted 5 and a half years. They started splitting at the side of the shoe. Danners are pretty cool, most models are gore-tex lined and the few times i'm outside in the rain (usually new years), i've sloshed around and kept dry. The New ones i got, the Striker GTX 8" MSRP $164, i got them for $129-shipped-no tax, and yep, it's from Ebay! Mwahhaha!
