I haven't thrown one of these up in a while. Things have been busy in the house. The grandparents took the little one to hang out at the mall. We had a few hours of quietness and it was a bit odd feeling in the beginning! I managed to churn another pack of primers into some brass. I think the little one liked it, he looked a bit stunned and traumatized.. Hopefully he'll get used to roaming with Grandpa n Grandmas..

(Posted on Monday, July 28)
Woke up at friggin 5:10am, a few minutes before the alarm was about to kick me out. Headed over to good old Lotus, CA for some river bouncing with All-Outdoors Rafting. I like that their site says SF to Lotus 130miles/3hrs, San Jose 155miles/3hrs, uh i dun think so. I leave the house at 5:45am, i arrive at 8:05am with a 10-15min stop at burger king. The gate was closed to the parking lot, so i roam the town..

I see bumpies on the water! This curve was near the Lotus Park.
The bachelor crew arrives, mostly recovering from a previous night of drunken stupor. It was so good that our badass guide raft could smell it while on the boat. We chill in a group of 3 boats, with ours in the back and the largest with 8 peoples.
Todays rafting is a Class 3 upper section of the south fork, kinda mellow with one really sketchy section and 2 more milder ones. I'll be getting pictures soon, theres some good ones. Our guide Mr. Mason is a college student whos spent time in afghanistan and iraq. He's like a good DJ, where he can read the group and figure the level of madness that we wanted. He asked the question just to ask 'do you want it 1) mellow and smooth? 2) a little rocky 3) Be bounced around like ping-pong. Obviously we chose the latter, which was the best. Mason purposely bounced us off rocks, slid sideways into the water, causing the one side to get all wet, and he had a slight mischievous side. We snuck as close as we can to the other rafts and take down their guides. He's pretty good for that. Good times..
We get back to camp and i pitch my tent, as i'm finished one of the rafting managers comes up to us and informs us that the camp owners doesn't want any part of us and we are to be removed from the site. I look at them and wonder what the ?? Talk about party pooper. The bachelor and best man work things out with the manager and we're to be on our best behavior. I guess quiet time is 10pm, they didn't get quiet till 2am. I think the campsites main fault was to put a church group next to us.
New plan.. Drink like savages until 10pm, and then get knocked out by it.

We try an alternative method of beer delivery via high pressure water cannon. The high pressure part didn't work out well. It needs more experimentation and development. Currently it wasn't efficient, many a bottle of beer was wasted on this one. (it kinda looks like he's upchucking but he's not.)
I guess friday was all calm and quiet, minus these clowns, but today was mad!

The campsite next to us gave us the luau experience. Weren't there forest fires around here? This group was to our left, across from us was a bachelorette's camp. And with that we had extra river guides hanging out with us. I didn't know if they hung out to oversee us or to join the madness. This is definately the definition of good times. I slept with the smell of Patron. I should have taken more pics. Maybe it was better that i didn't..

Jivas gets jumped into the Catholic gang

The Jivas Familia
Today was a mellow day, roamed around with the crew for a bit. Went to St. Patricks Church in downtown SF for a little water dousing for the young one.

Before the madness started i went to town.
20-pic stitch 360 degree view, sorry its overexposed. =\ I liked the part within the baptism that the priest started to give a historic tour of the building. Destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, rebuilt by 1913 with Italian Marble and some other fancy granite. Makes me wanna take pics of the columns n what not.
After we scooted off to Burlingame for reception at the Sherman. Its a nifty place, good food, atmosphere. Our only problem is that you feel drunk even though you've never had a drink. Its because the ship lists 10 degrees port.
Here i meet a fellow scotch bartender and we converse. So i try:
-Aberlour 12 year: Surprisingly not bad, smooth and sweet in the end.
I decided to get another glass for Roz, but they ran out so i get a substitution.
-Lagavulin 16 year: Its like Aberlour with more body, a bit smokey but not overwhelming, and sweet.

That event lasted from 11am till 4pm.

The knocked out crew knows whats up.. Let me join in on this naptime.

But no rest for the wicked, the gang afterwards met up in south city for some korean bbq n hung out a little at our place. Good times good times..

Someone turned on the color in the water, it was quite a vivid blue

Yesterday we got our replacement bed from Macy's. Pretty cool, thanks Simmons for a 10-year warranty. We originally had a Simmons World Class "Cayley", its a pillowtop with a soft memory foam. The warranty takes effect when the memory foam has memorized your body depth by 1.5"+ we were at 2.5". At times in bed, it felt like sleeping in a valley of sorts.
Our replacement is a similar world class model 'angelique', it has a firmer memory foam and it is a bit stiff. Thats alright, the bed feels taller now, lordy.

Too bad the new handsfree law is taking in effect tommorrow. I forgot to try to text while on a motorcycle, drats!

Hung out with the Fluffielady for some Cookie Lee action at Seabowl. They were hosting a hot rod car show of sorts. Bring out your poodle skirts, slicked back hair with combs in the back pocket, Ben Davis or Dickie pants and fishnet stockings, just not all together. Bring out your old schools, wax and chrome. There was live music and raffle. Nobody was bowling in Seabowl, most of the people in there were buying food and drinks.

3 pic stitch of the Seabowl Parking lot, which there were no spaces for 'normal' cars. People were parked up the hill, onto a never used road. I guess thats the use of the non-used road, overload parking.

Got Grillz?
Speaking of Chopt 1949, i had this perfectly framed, until i saw what i got and on the upper corner was some dood standing around. Crop! You could still barely see his hat. Thats me squatting for the shot.

I always liked such vintage mobiles. I told myself that one day i'll go through the blood, sweat and tears on rebuilding one sometime in my life. And when i heard how much cash was invovled, i guess thats what the tears part in blood, sweat and tears is. Of course those were the days when a house in SF was 450-500k.

Its a LowLow. There were quite a few hydraulic and air bagged cars. Its a daily driver the guy says.. Riiight.

Fluffielady didn't sell that much, it was probably because i was there. I tend to kill sales. Maybe i should have slicked back my hair and wore some west coast chopper stuff. Oh well.

Yesterdays Sunset of sorts, i missed it by going for the camera but the whole sky was a pink color from all the smokey smoke with all these forest fires. This photo doesn't really show much pink at all. It is what happens if you aren't at the right place at the right time.

Fluffielady and i awaken early to the bastard heat that still lingered with us overnight, man this insulation is good, too good. Soo good that we slept downstairs where its cooler.
We headed out to high tea time at Tranquilitea near oceana. We surveyed the scene for a future baby shower, and with that came a scone and some Rooibos Tea, quite tasty, but blazing hot tea in a hot morning doesn't work out right.
After high tea, we marched over to Foster City for some Red Egg n Ginger, for Jasmine! I don't take as much photos of peoples anymore, i need to do so without overdoing it.

Roz n Jivs, childrenfolk!
It was cool, food was yummie, met some pplz, eat some eats.

Got home and saw this. Kinda weird with the jetsteam going into infinity. Fluffielady thinks da plane went down, i doubt it.

Yesterday finished finishing the rest of the wine rack, it looks decent for a sponge brush that i only had.

Today was foggy overcast at the haus but at Frontierland Park it was clear and sunny.

View of the Fog trying to creep in from the south (devils slide), the fog was creeping from all sides. The sun held off the fog for the whole duration that we were there, pretty cool. We get to the park at 10:30 and the 4 bbq pits in the main area were taken. dratz. There are two other spots which are for paid group bbq and then we remembered the two by the side of the park. Its kinda secluded but it was cool for us.
I thought i took a bit of pics, but i guess i didn't. We need some group pics, its been a while..

It was quite an impressive armada of baby carriers. Kiddie madness is arriving!

We hang out till past 4pm, get home and Fluffielady presents me with a gift that she hopes works out:

Oban 14 year, the Green Label is from Roz, who drank a bit of my other green label. Thanks for the replacement! The oban is pretty tasty, smooth, rich smokey flavors in the middle and a bit sweet in the end. Not bad, i likes!

High power action: It ain't working for me. =\

200 Yard Slow Offhand: 182-4x
200 Yard Rapid Sitting: 92-1x
300 Yard Rapid Prone: 99-2x
600 Yard Slow Prone: 98-3x
Total: 471-10x

Sunny and warm day with no wind at all. The match was a smaller one as well with only 13 people blasting away, just like last month. How odd. My standing sucked, i was going back and forth from a X or 10 to a 8. My sitting blows again, but i think that is where i need to focus on. As to my blurb last month on going all out for the high master class, i dunno anymore. hah!

After getting home, i did an oil change on Delilah, she turns 100k miles. woot!

Enough of that crap, on with the Alaskan stitches.

The quarter way point in Denali National Park. Tour buses only. Wake up at 4am, cram yourselves onto a bus and sit for a 6 or 8 hour tour (feels like forever either way). You play the game of shout out loud to stop the bus if you see anything, mostly we didn't see much except for a few spots. We saw bald eagles, brown bears, dall sheep, and caribou at a far off distance. This stop lasted a whole 15 minutes and the driver didn't give a hoot if she left ya.

Halfway point on the bus tour. Its pretty but i guess its the first turnaround and rest area.

All this time in the summer it just looked barren, it wasn't the snow capped mountains until we reached Seward, the last of our land journey. This pano was made while wandering around the city before hopping onto the cruise ship.

In the water, first day of 2 seabound, heading towards a glacial bay. Beh, its water.

Cruise Ship Parking at Juneau. Park your cruise ship and get offloaded onto a Pier39-ish land.

I tried a few others and it didn't work, or somehow i had missed a section to stitch. Oh well, like i knew i was going to do this.

Fluffielady and i roamed off to Devils Slide and beyond to see whats up, try different things, and at least move around. She was feeling for some clam chowder or chinese so i roam around yelp and find a place called Barbaras Fish Trap at Princeton by the sea.. Princeton By the Sea is where the Half Moon Bay airport as well as the marina. The food is good, Fluffilady had the BOWL of clam chowder feeds 4, and its made without dairy products. I had the crab sandwich and it was pretty fresh n tasty. It takes cash only and some fish items are $25+.

21-Pic Stitch of the Marina at Priceton By The Bay.
We strolled around, but theres nothing much to see, just eateries and the view.
Fluffielady wanted to see more of this shanty of a town and the area that we were at was a mix of Industrial as well as residential. We saw the half moon bay yacht club and wonder if that sign was for real. I didn't take the pic of the sign and storage area but these 'yachts' were uh, the paddling type.

This sign is HUGE. It makes me just wanna park there. heh.

Came back, did some errands, loafed about, checked out the new bridge that connects to the devils slide tunnel. Looking good.

Level Of Difficulty at Work: 0.35 out of 10
Time During Lunch: Medium

Man yesterday was a wild ride, but it was good times, good times! I didn't get home till midnight! My venture began at 7am, to a bowl of Frosted Flakes. I got Delilah out and roamed off to Sacramento to do a ultra-mini 10-year (!?)College reunion of sorts. Well not really, it was just that a few peoples were meeting up and fluffielady and i were close by (107miles away, close enough). We find out that with the previous days of blazing heat that Sacramento was to be around 97 degrees and fluffielady wasn't feeling the heat. If its hot and theres air conditioning, its ok, but no-AC = *burning noise*. So she opted out of the road trip.
I get to Sacto and meet up with Eli (its been 2 years, i think) , Jen (since 96!) and Ian (5 years!). Things were still the same, except out weights and hair. Well the shenanigans were the same. I thought we were going to a Pacific Rim fair in Sacto. Nope, we're going to South Lake Tahoe, 'cuz jen has never been there. Ok, sounds good. Eat some Waffles, no chicken though (Roscoe's), and with that comes, Panos,Polehanging, Drank, and the usual tomfoolery.

On highway 50, theres many places to pull over and you can sorta get down to the American River. 9-Photo Stitch, 192 degree view. Its a bit rocky. The weather was a record setting 82 degrees! Oooo!

10-Pic 190 degree Photo from the Lake Tahoe Rec Area.

5-Pic 192 degree of the same, except with wet feet.

17-Pic 274 degree view of Zephyr Cove. It was pretty packed with tons of peoples there. The only beach to have a bit of inhabitants.

Hanging Out at Zephyr Cove. Hanging out with these guys felt like nothings change. Jen still beats up Eli. Ian and Eli have that certain attraction that only those two would have, the love is still strong since our college days. Thats a good thing.

So we roamed a bit, shopped at the ultra small outlet, had a few slices of Carmel Apple with Peanuts for lunch (?). Gambled at Harrahs, Harveys, same difference. Had a shot of Cabo Wabo Reposado, it wasn't that good to me. Kinda choppy tasting, not smooth.
After the drink, headed back to Folsom to Mikuni's for sushi, since everybody is now a sushi nut and hungry like savages. At 8pm its still pretty full. They have a pretty good deal there, a 65$ platter, and theres 5-6 variants. Its worth getting it, and you can feed 3-4 pplz. The food is always good there and fast, and our waiterdood was pretty candid about what sucked and what was cool for the day. Too bad there wasn't any Mizu No Shirabe sake. =\
Anywho, got done about 10pm, and headed back into the city of fog, to wake up at 6:30 to go at it, into the working world.

A coworker today came in with her DS Lite with problems that she thought may have came from the R4 DS chip. I thought it might have been some odd firmware, so it was updated, but didnt' work. I tried her R4 in my DS and it did work, so i tried my R4 into her DS and it didn't. I had a feeling it was hardware, maybe the pins aren't touching, maybe the r4 contacts are bad. I was about to just shrug n say too bad so sad when i peered into the Slot-1 socket and saw 2 bent pins. Lovely, how do you fix that, with my ultimate weapon, the unbent paperclip. I have fixed so many things with the unbent paperclip that i have at least one on my desk. I kinda bent them back to a more respectable angle and carefully put the r4 in and ding! it works.

Todays gonna be quite a visual posting.

Waking up at 6am, i ventured to the north side of the city to walk along for the March Of Dimes for babies, a 6mile jaunt. Fluffielady ventured the opposite direction to Half Moon Bay. I arrive at 7:20am and nobodys is there, So i call Sherwin and he tells me the walk begins at 9am, registration at 8.. dood. So what to do, i roam for a little, then realizing that i'm probably gonna walk in this direction anyhow, i did what i've been doing lately, taking Panoramics.

23 Picture Panoramic taken by the boat docks near Fort Mason, the picture woulda extended to the left a bit more but somehow i missed a section of houses. doh!
Eventually we meet up and i meet a few of his extended familia, they all seem to be a nice bunch. The only problem is when we meet, the walk has began, and we were the last group. The planned walk goes westward toward fort point, under the golden gate bridge and then up the hill towards old letterman hospital (which isn't there anymore) to the palace of fine arts and back to Fort Mason. Our plan was to 'follow the masses'.

And the masses are off, hey wait for us! Its not easy following the masses when we're 1)last to start, 2)not going at speed, and 3)our possee was displaced everywhere.

7 Pic Stitch, First stop was passing the Presidio Entrance, and onto the beachway, a photo op.

Then we reach this bridge and by this time we've gained some distance. This whole area has been newly redone as a wetlands restoration, which is kinda neat to see the seagulls and streams. And with that a whole lotta doggies, runners, bicyclists, etc.

How long did we wait? I got this 33 Picture stitch AND i took other pics with Sherwins camera. It was ok, we were 1/4 of the way there. Wee!

We reach the Warming Hut, which we didn't need any kind of warming at all. So we hang out, or at least i do (The warming hut is the building way behind me). At this point theres a turn-around, but technically the course goes all the way to fort point. And at this turn-around were people handing out water (Checkpoint #3), we continue on.

A 16 Pic Stitch taken on a pier by the Warming Hut

We finally reach Fort Point and start the return course. By the time we reached Checkpoint #3, theres nobody, only cups on the floor with water and dust in them. Lovely, also 'following the crowd' isn't possible since they were long gone, so instead of following the route, we just walked back the way we came. We got back to Fort Mason and were the last of the folk to eat. Halfway through eating, it seemed like EVERYBODY just bailed. So we hung out, and the familia took a few packs of leftover food. It was like that..

One last 4-pic stitch photo, of the sunset. Todays weather was beautiful and warm. I moto'd to the walk with Jogging pants, a t-shirt and my blue technical jacket, and was fine (sorta) at 6:45am.

Ahh yea heres a few pics:

a 55 Picture Panoramic taken on twin peaks where the tour buses drop you off at. I was perched on the stone wall getting abused by the winds.

This is the monster 77 pic, which is the 55 from above and an additional 22 by moving southward to the stone wall next to the pay potties. It blended pretty well, with the focal movement.

48 Picture stitch, taken from the southern peak of twin peaks. Twin peaks actually has 3 peaks but the third isn't as prominent. Its a full 360 degree view.

Hmmz, where else can i go?

12 Pic Pano Stitch out my master bedroom. 190 degree view it says..

I had some time after work to run around Twin peaks. I have 2.5 different panoramics, one at the tourist spot, which took 55 shots, i moved to the side and took an additional 22, and the Hugin Stitching program noted 'possible movement.' The other panoramic is from the top of the southern peak of twin peaks. I did a 55 pic pano stitch and it took quite a while to process. I will do the 77 pic stitch, i got half way and it's 10:30pm. I will resume tommorrow, i should leave it on all night but i don't think i need that much time. Maybe if it took 1.5 hrs to go halfway. The 55 should be nice, it's an actual 360 degree shot, hopefully.
One other thing i did, since it was blustery and windy was try to hover with my jacket over my head like a parachute. Yea, i probably looked like a dufus on the top of twin peaks hopping around but with the winds blasting and then slowing it only worked once. And that one time was a feeble slowing descent, which still worked for me. I don't think i qualify to hover, but slowing down on a jump was good enough. It was kinda cold as well. Hopefully tommorrow it'll be up.
I filled up at $4.19 for supreme, i missed the 15$ mark by 20cents. I don't think its something to celebrate though.
